Thank you for sharing this message. As a teen, I went to a Military School - starting in the 8th grade. The school taught me not only how to lead, but more importantly, taught me how to nuture leadership in others. We all start by crawling in the world... as a leader, you need to understand that your purpose is to lift others up so that they can perform their best and improve over time. Discipline is to learn. Teaching seems to be learning the subject a second time to pass it on to others.

Beautifully spoken, Rabbi Jacobson. Thank you. However, don't you believe healing is needed before we can become leaders. The emotional trauma inflicted on our nation is so pervasive, don't you think repair is needed before we build leaders. Any thoughts on this?

A poignant message & conversation. My opinion of a leader, especially a national leader, is one who unifies the people toward a common goal and achieves goals, while uplifting everyone, raising standards in the process. Anyone in a 'leadership' roll that relies on a gaggle of deceiving sycophants & false witnesses, is no leader at all, rather he is a divider, a failure. Thank you, Rabbi!!

Thinking of political figures. George Washington retired with his head held high because he didn’t want to be viewed as a King. And he knew it wasn’t owed to him. This is what I can think of a good leader. They have the humility to be like the common man even though they are rare and have a soul.

Primarily a good leader MUST be a good communicator. Being able to provide those you lead a psychologically safe environment, and traits like emapthy, authenticity and accountability are also critically important. Accountability, truth and trustworthiness run a tight race. Where these qualities lack it points clearly to someone with a self-serving agenda. We must be willing to speak up, refuse to promote, hire or condone harmful and abusive behaviors of those in positions of power and leadership who dismiss, devalue and/or dehumanize those they lead.

I felt the same way, until I understood that Joseph and Mary participated in the census in the gospels. They traveled a long way to do it, to be obedient to the king. We're told to submit to the laws of our government. To pay taxes. To stand up for the poor, persecuted, widows, disabled, and oppressed.... I don't vote to support an individual, I vote to shoulder the responsibility of being an active citizen. Doing things I don't always want to do, but for the sake of the Kingdom of God, I submit to obey many things He has called me to. No human will ever be perfect or even "good" apart from One. Every one of us falls short of the Glory and Holiness of our Father in Heaven. He is the only one I worship. But bc I follow Him, I will take on the burden of casting a vote. That's my conviction, it may not be yours.
@plnbdy
@plnbdy Ай бұрын
the one who is fasting is still consuming.... not voting is only ok if all that energy saved is being invested in the community.... somehow we owe our community.... Still that said.... in a corrupt situation... participating at all could be interpreted as consent.... Fill the world with your honest opinions. You'll find out if you're correct! And if you aren't correct you will likely learn what IS correct.... and of course Abstention can be Holy. ... if what's being offered is not.... In our current situation...... we have an individual who is not even functional and we have an individual who has at times in his life been crass perhaps but he has also lived his life out in the public eye and there is no real significant dirt on him.... sure we have plenty of records of him saying this or saying that that might seem pretty gross..... but within the context of the presidency of the United States of America? we would much rather have somebody who knows how to fight in there... because the Constitution is reliable to keep that dog in check... a good guard dog that is well-trained and chained is an absolute must.... that's how I see Donald Trump.... that chain goes all the way up to the end of the constitution..... if he violates the Constitution he will lose his face quickly.... and likewise anything that he can do to somebody within the Constitution I'm going to say it was one of those fafo type situations.... King David.... not a Saint... respected by Angels.... sometimes right sometimes wrong.... always His.

A true Leader should be humble and learn from his pupils. For this purpose asking questions or inventing mathematical problems was always more difficult to solve them. If Polítics would be based on Q and A as many channels through their audience we will increase knowledge exponencially. From that knowledge and the humbleness of the actual difficult current events will emerge a new better leadership. The problem is that the older will leave place to the younger and dont Block the path as in the USA. Man highest mental capacity peaks at 35 to 42 with the elders experience to count as well on. It is nice your gratitude to the Rebbe in the end everyone needs references. Not to imitate but to be encouraged to improve. All Prophets were leaders

Isaiah 54:5 - For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. Jeremiah 31:31-34 King James Version 31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord: 33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 KJV 3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures John 3:16 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life Ephesians 2:8-9 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast ROMANS 10:13 For “whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

The big mistake people make is calling upon a human and acting like he is God. Yeshua was God's messenger. A teacher. A leader. A loving man. A wonderful friend. Unafraid to teach truth and to show love to those who need it. He led by example, he acted as the extension of Heavenly Father here. So we must look within our hearts to reach the father in heaven.

Yeshua was a messenger and teacher. He cannot be worshipped like he was God himself. The Father above him is indeed far greater. He is eternal. Yeshua was my best friend in a past life of mine. We were so close that we seemed like we were married. Two men, hearts intertwined.

@@Elysiel_ParadiseOfGod Agreed. Jesus was a good man, God fearing. Showed us how to pray to the Father in heaven. Jesus said "The word witch you hear me speak is not my own, for I only speak what the Father taught me to speak", and also said, "I'm going back to my God and your God".

@@mj-ek6mtyou are right, there is only one G-d. What the other commentor meant to say was, we pray directly to G-d and not to our prophets or messiah. It was our people who received divine NATIONAL revalation (as in, not 1 or 2 people, but the entire nation). I would recommend you the 7 Noachide laws, which are for all of humankind. Our common ancestor is Abraham/Ibrahim, he would have been a Noachide, and he would want us to become friends again, you know that.

@@jsgrubner27 at least we agree on ONE God... as for Abraham as the other prophets, sent by the ONE God, he and all prophets would worship that ONE God alone... thus ISMAEL AND ISAAC being the son of Abraham would also worship the ONE God... like their father did...
@jsgrubner27
@jsgrubner27 Ай бұрын
@@mj-ek6mt yes, in fact the first noachide law is to not profane G-d's ONENESS in any way. So this is really a law meant for all of humankind, not just Jews and Muslims. Abraham was a Noachide and beleived in G-d's Oneness. This is where we have some issues in Christianity with all the trinity stuff.
