Hi Lance, I'm Bobi, the founder of Wirsh&Geimori. First off, thank you for the review! I've been a fan of your channel for a long time and truly admire your in-depth approach to coffee. I was eager to send you a sample as soon as we started the Geimori project. While it's just our first prototype, as a startup, we're always keen to hear customer feedback, especially from professionals like you. I just watched your review video, and to be honest, I did feel some of the points weren't quite fair. You compared a prototype to a product already on the market, and in the scattering test, why you did NOT test the light roast beans with the Timemore’s grinder? However, we truly value your honest opinion, no matter what it may be. We've already made many improvements to the grinder, here are some key improvements: • Reduced size: The final grinder will be more compact and without wobbing. • Lower retention: We've reduced it to 0.3-0.5g by modifty the grinding chamber. • Power Switch: We've removed the notification sound and also changed the power switch to Inductive proximity switch. • New Quick Release mechanism: Makes cleaning and swapping burrs even easier. • Improved overall build quality: The production version will have a more refined finish. Our team is working hard on continually improvements, and we are dedicated to provide the best possible grinding experience to our backers with the Geimori Grinder.
@LanceHedrickАй бұрын
To be fair, I got a prototype of the timemore, too. The prototype was essentially identical to their final product. Very little difference (for 064). The 078 they launched in small markets before they did a kickstarter. So, I did get a commercial 078. For the scatter test, I did do a test on light roast with the timemore but I guess hugo cut it out. It had similar results to dark roast, meaning some scattering but nothing crazy like in the infomercial. In the end, I hope sincerely you are able to fix the current issues and are able to deliver a product that is worth the price. I would suggest maybe making the timeline a bit more generous to ensure this is possible. But in the end, it's your product. Thanks again for sending it over. I am sorry I didn't quite like it and seemed pessimistic, but I try to treat all products with an understanding that hard working people put their hard earned money towards products. It is, as i said in the video, sort of moral imperative i feel. Cheers

@@LanceHedrick Thanks for your response, Lance. We take moral imperative seriously and want to assure you that we're dedicated implement all the necessary improvements to delivering a grinder that meets our backer’s expectations.

You have comparison videos on your kickstarter against the timemore... I think Lance was more than fair in doing a comparison and gave a lot of grace to this being a prototype. You still had the chance to send likely your best sample, and he still had numerous issues with it.

@brentromanАй бұрын
Where it’s headed? Well, I’m guessing integrated plasma generators. And augers. I’d personally love to see the home-grinder market having more blind burr options; as the technology is there- why not?

Yes to blind burrs. I don't see why screw holes on burrs still happening--cost savings I suppose. @@brentroman
@Robby_S.Ай бұрын
@@ExtractionFaction @brentroman the reason why there is such a small option for blind burrs is because there's no proof that the screw holes affect the grinds. As soon as this theme is big and proofen, the blind burr grinders will start to appear as weed.

I didn't realize how massive that Geimori is! I kind of expected it to be similar to the Timemore but they are miles apart. You're right, the prototype of Geimori was initially a bit larger than anticipated! We focused on internal design elements that impacted the size, but we heard your feedback loud and clear. I appreciate your mindfulness in your own videos/content but as far as I know, it really is a plattform-wide policy that only backers can comment on projects. Since starting to back projects on kickstarter in February. 2013, I've never seen a project where it was different. Somewhere along the way Kickstarter itself even started to remove comments from people who cancelled their pledge.

There were already quite a few red flags in the other KZbin channel that reviewed this grinder but those red flags were just brushed away. 1. They guy can't discern the taste difference between 64mm SSP MP with 78 mm Geimori burrs. Why go up in burr size if it doesn't produce better or different notes? 2. Their claimed particle distribution is hardly what you would call unimodal, there are literally 2 peaks, so not the same particle distribution as SSP MP. 3.. They claimed each click is 5.5 microns but the time difference in pulling espresso for 1 click was 10 secs, which is impossible. That was even after seasoning the burrs with 5 kg of coffee. 4. There was a short part in the video where he opened up the grinder and you can see how the coffee ground was basically clogged in the burrs' pathway, which would probably affect the particle distribution and why the difference in time of pulling shots were so massive between click. 5. They claimed the auger is actually a pre-breaker and "blamed" the retention on the pre-breaker auger, it's common he said. I don't believe Zerno Z1 has that issue. I'm glad that Lance showed different red flags in this video because I smelled something fishy the moment I saw this grinder in Kickstarter.
