Hi, PhD physicist here! Microwave ovens are basically radios that vibrate water molecules to increase their temperature. The only things high levels of (unshielded) microwaves can do to you is burn your skin or give you cataracts (messing with the fluid in your eyes). Microwaves are non-ionizing radiation so they cannot cause cancer or penetrate your skin like UV rays from the sun can. When you measure EMF from your laptop or your phone you're pretty much measuring how much heat and light they give off with use. Heat and light (infrared and visible EM radiation) are also non-ionizing. Electromagnetic fields are naturally occurring throughout the whole radiation spectrum so I would not be too afraid of them!
@clamorbergen
@clamorbergen 4 ай бұрын
Microwaves in your microwave oven are contained via the shielding of the door/ sides of the microwave. Also, its true that laptops use can reduce sperm count, etc but that's due to the prolonged heat. Hot showers do the same thing. The light from screens can also mess with your circadian rhythm but that's due to their artificiality, not the type of radiation itself.

Yep. I'm open about my weak gums and dental implants. My mom got dentures in her late 40s because she just didn't want to deal with her real teeth anymore. I'm trying to avoid dentures for as long as possible, but implants are expensive. Got 3 so far. May do 2 more for now.

Farther in time, more healing is fine than too early. Relax, a time process. Part of your journey. I’ve also been through the trials and tribulations. My oral surgeon specializes in jaw/bone reconstruction from illness and accidents. So my implant was not as serious as his other patients. When I put this into perspective, it helped me become thankful and relieved. Thank you for sharing

Hi Shea, love you! Just wanted to point out that the microwave does not remove nutrients from your food. It’s the equivalent of when you steam your veggies. Boiling and baking in the oven are worst. Because microwaves take less time to cook there is less damage. Just a fun fact.

My husband went through something similar with his dental health, and it was a long process of at least a year, and you can’t rush it. I know this is silly, but my twelve year old doxie had a teeth cleaning today where they pulled a couple of his bottom teeth. After bringing him home he kept whimpering like he was hurting. Thankfully I had a pain pill left from a previous issue and they said I could give to him. He’s much better now. Love.

You're fun to watch, beautiful & real. Its a nice distraction for me. I was diagnosed in june 2022 after my 40th HS reunion & losing 130lbs+. I try to help bring awareness to other women & men how to not solely trust your mammograms. I'll be 60 in May & have had yearly mammograms for 20 years. Until I lost weight & could feel a huge lump. I have no idea how long the cancer has been growing & missed. I don't have a lot of money to shop, so I like to watch your reviews 1st. I pray all of your teeth issues resolve soon & am glad you're not in pain anymore. Hugs from Easley, SC

I was diagnosed with breast cancer December 2022. I had a mammogram in spring of 2022 and the radiologist did the scan 3 times, 3 ultrasounds and dismissed it as fibrocystic breast tissue. I found the lump myself in October. That's when I was told by the tech he should of rechecked after 3 months and The radiologist I seen that day when I asked why he didn't have me come back she said we're all human and make mistakes as my partner I'm not throwing him under the bus. I had a bilateral mastectomy in January 2023 with flat closure. I had to have more surgery in October due to the original surgeon not draining saromas and taking too much fascia my skin was like glued to my muscle limiting mobility. The surgeon removed the Seroma encasings lots of scar tissue and did a tissue transfer to fix where the skin was stuck down. Thank God I did have the revision surgery, because the surgeon found 48 grams of breast tissue left behind. I now have myofascial chest tightness and lymphedema. I did not have to do chemo or radiation. My oncologist wants me to take hormone blockers although I chose not to due to the side effects. FYI for everyone especially those who have fibrocystic breast tissue, you should be doing lymphatic drainage. Women hold there tension in their chest, which causes breast cancer if not doing lymphatic drainage. Breast cancer doesn't run in my family. Look up cancerrehabpt on Instagram (Kelly Sturm) she is amazing. She shows the correct way to do lymphatic drainage she helps when you have lymphedema. I wish you the best and my prayers are with you. 🙏

I would be so ecstatic and probably cry my eyes out if I had the financial means to get a full restoration. I took very good care of my teeth and even invested in 6 lumineers about 14 years ago. Over the past couple of years my teeth have failed miserably. My whole mouth hurts all of the time including my tongue which actually swells up. Eating is very difficult and never mind smiling because it’s super embarrassing. I have 8 teeth remaining and do everything I can to make it appear like I have teeth using cement and dental wax. It’s a complete nightmare! I’ve had 2 consultations recently and it’s not affordable at all. My dental insurance shows they pay 50% yet both dentists want everything up front and then you have to deal with the insurance company on your own. It’s a lot of money to come up with! Your teeth look amazing Shea! Absolutely beautiful 💜

Your "retainer" is called a "partial" - like hockey players wear who have who have had teeth knocked out. I have a removal partial for 1 tooth I lost and I am EXTREMELY happy with it. I would never get an implant if I could avoid it. The partial works perfectly and no one can tell its not my real tooth. I'm happy your partial is currently working for you. It looks great.

Hi Shea, Thank you for sharing your story. My journey is similar. I recently had to have 4 teeth extracted, four root canals ( the roots were crystalized so I had to go to a specialist). My dentist's equipment actually fell into my root and that was a nightmare. I've had infection after infection actually entering my blood stream and ending up in the hospital. I'm a single Mom and none of this was covered by insurance so I put it all on Care Credit 😱I've not been able to work and it's really hard. I'm not asking for you to feel sorry for me. I just want you to know you're not alone. Unfortunately, due to auto immune issues, my tooth journey still continues. I keep going back and forth with the insurance company but I can't get it covered. I'm not sure what to do. I'm absolutely not asking for a hand out but you can feel fortunate that you don't have to worry financially about your teeth. I am so happy you are feeling better. Thank you so much for sharing your journey. Please pray for me 🙏 I love your videos, you do a great job! I'll continue to watch 🥰

Thank you for sharing the journey through tooth restoration. Hearing your story made me feel less bad about my situation. Four years ago, I had all of my lower teeth removed and (eventually) replaced with implants. That process from start to finish took about a years. A couple years later I needed to get all of my upper teeth replaced (an old bridge that included one of my front teeth suddenly failed). That process for the upper teeth used more advanced technology with various scanning machines, but it was still a very long process from start to finish. I went in for surgery in Feb 2023 (teeth were extracted and replaced with implants) and my new teeth were finally "installed" 18 months later (April 2024). Long process, but worth it to be done with this never ending saga of tooth problems. I've been embarrassed about all the dental work I needed, but it makes me feel better to see that I'm not alone. :)

I went from 0 cavities to now feeling so embarrassed. I hurt all the time. I feel like my front bottom ones are going to break off. I have insurance but no income until they approve my disability. Which can take months to years. I appreciate you talking about your journey through your struggles. It makes me feel a little less embarrassed.

I too have had terrible dental issues for over one year. Either my jaw went out of alignment or my teeth mysteriously shifted. My bite has been "off", causing tooth misalignment and pain in my teeth. I have been to so many dentists who have not been able to help me. In three weeks I have an appointment with a prosthodontist - hoping she can help. The orthodontist said he couldn't help but that I just need a tiny adjustment on one tooth to even out my bite. Praying it all works out. Crazy the things we take for granted - having an even bite that enables you to eat.

Yes, it is a long process to get implants and especially if you need bone growth stuff added, then you have to wait for that to become actual bone in your jaw. I’ve had all this done 8/10 times and it takes a long time, especially if you have one root canal fail and then a year later another one. On and on. I have all my root canals replaced with implants now. Took me on and off about 10 yrs. With short periods of time where going wrong teeth wise! I am feeling great now and no infection returned for any of them! It’s been about 3 yrs with no issues at all. Feels like heaven!! So glad you are feeling better and I’m sure your surgery/implants will go well from here on out. What an ordeal right? But it is worth it!! Root canals over time, I’ve found, keep a tiny bit of infection in your jaw/mouth and I think sap your energy, immune system! You are always fighting a low grade infection without knowing it. So once you get that fixed it really helps your overall health, I believe. Prayers for your good health!!

Hey Shea! I think you coming forward with your dental journey is very brave. My bf got into a bad accident that messed up alot of his teeth in his early 20s and has not had the funds to get it fixed. It has lead to lots of pain and nerve issues and infections. He would never ask for help/money but something like this would help him out so much and give him so relief as well as confidence.

I am on this same tooth journey..... I've spent probably 40,000 already, 3 or 4 root canals went bad, 3 implants, etc etc. Make sure to get bloodwork done to check blood calcium levels/PTH. Parathyroid issues cause bone damage, osteoporosis and unexpected horrible tooth issues.

Happy to hear that you are healing. I had my left lower molar extracted (#36) in January 2023 and I'm still waiting for a bridge so that I can chew on the left side of my mouth. I had a problem when in May I went to the periodontist to start the implant process but was told that my jaw bone was exposed and I had developed necrosis of the jaw bone. I went for a CT scan and then was referred to a specialist. The specialist told me that it was bad and he was willing to try something, he called it a debridement procedure. I had the procedure on June 8 last year and it was successful. Unfortunately I am unable to get an implant due to the trauma. I'm hoping that the bridge will enable me to chew on the left side :)

My husband, after 41 years of wearing a bridge for his back teeth, went to Costa Rico for 8 days, and had all his teeth pulled and implants put in. All in one week! For airfare and staying in the dental places AirBNB, it cost us, minus the food, $8200!!! That was $50K LESS than he was quoted here in the US. I was quoted $9800 to have my permanent bridge that was 40 years old and had 5 cavities under it, along with 2 cracked molars fixed in Mexico for $3200. Both places were super clean and the dentists were top-notch. Don't let dentists here scare you into thinking it takes months and tens of thousands of dollars to get the dental care you need. In fact, the father and son dentists my husband saw in Costa Rico did their dental schooling and training here in the US!!! I started over a YEAR AGO on just 2 molar implants on the other side of my mouth from the 2 cracked molars and I still don't have it finished! I'm still waiting on getting the two implant screws to be made before surgery can be done to put them in. It took almost a year to find a surgeon to pull my teeth. I had three to pull (I have resorption in all three...google that....ugh) but because just two replacements cost over $20K, we are going with just 2 replacements instead of all three.

I concur with the OP. Personally, I used Costa Rica Dental Team. I stay at the Hyatt and they provide transportation to and from the office. Because the lab is literally in the same building as the office, turn-around is pretty fast. They all speak English, and it’s very professional and clean. - I also hear excellent reviews about going to Los Algodones, especially if you live nearer the west coast which is where I am now. Research will help you narrow down which office if you’re so inclined. Lots of RVers go there when spending the winter in AZ, so check their channels Anyway, I highly recommend CR if you have a lot of work to be done. I find US dentists to be more like commissioned car salesmen.

Using the microwave with a small amount of water essentially steams food from the inside out. That keeps in more vitamins and minerals than almost any other cooking method and shows microwave food can indeed be healthy. (Harvard Study 2021)

Omg…I’m on my tooth journey as well. I’m currently going thru my first implant process… went today for my check up… turns out a root canal I did a year ago (different dentist was done wrong) have an infection now and tooth will not be saveable … so another implant for that tooth. In total I will need 3 implants. And I also need two crowns on top of all that as well. That process will be in two weeks for me. Like you I’ve had issues my whole life especially with the current tooth I had removed. I finally found a dentist who told me the truth about my teeth situation and I began my implant journey. I finally don’t have pain anymore there and currently waiting for my 3 month healing so I can get the implant put in. I’m praying that by the end of 2025 my mouth will finally be pain-free and fixed. Hardest part of this whole process is saving the money to pay the cost of the work. Dental insurance sucks… we shouldn’t have to pay out pocket for most of the procedures especially when so much has to be done 🥺. I pray that you have a speedy, successful and full recovery. And thank you for sharing your story!!! It has given me the encouragement to keep going with my teeth process ❤

Glad to hear that your teeth are healing and you are feeling better! I have teeth that need work done but we can't afford it. I have had 3 teeth pulled and wasn't able to get implants. I have a crown that has needed redone for almost 2 years and another crown that has cavities under it that needs fixed. Without insurance, it's just impossible. I wish our health care system was better and more affordable! Your cabin is beautiful!!

I have also been in dental "hell" for over a year. I had two implants fail due to osteonecrosis of the jaw bone. The reason? Prolia, which is a shot you have injected twice a year. Before that I took Fosamax. I have osteoporosis. We removed one implant and I saw an oral surgeon to try to get the gum to grow over the exposed bone. I have been seeing her for a year. As you said, this takes so much time! The gum just would not heal. She used cadaver tissue and thought we would have to use my stem cells, but it finally healed. That implant was only about 2 years old. Money down the drain. Now number 7 is failing (I'm sure you know all your teeth numbers by now). The is in the top of the mouth 2 teeth down from my front tooth. That implant is out of "warranty" so I would be out another $3k. So, I would be out $6K if I replace both implants. I am semi-retired so I probably won't do it.

Oh my goodness! I am at the end of an 3 tooth implant process on the bottom. It has been months, and I had a similar after-surgery experience. I just got my caps on the posts and can't wear my retainer, so I have had to get over myself and just go without it right now. Good luck to you! You can do this. It is a long, hard process, but the end is going to be great and worth it.

Our microwave broke and we didn't replace it for months. We missed it. We finally bought a very small one that fits on top of our fridge just pushed back and out of sight. We don't use it much but in a busy household, sometimes you just need to quickly reheat some spaghetti or something for lunch etc.

I feel this so much. My teeth have completely deteriorated and my self esteem is almost non existent. I have auto immune diseases that have just destroyed my teeth. I miss smiling and being confident! I’m 47 and even contemplated dentures- I’m on disability so definitely can’t afford veneers. True story- I went to the dentist what feels like once a week for almost a year to fill cavities and fix my teeth. Went for my follow up cleaning and ALL THE CAVITIES were back. After just 6 months. Like how? Ugh. It’s weird I’m almost ok with my body attacking my joints, skin, organs but lord please NOT my teeth. Crazy I know.

After a lucky lifetime of pretty ordinary to good dental experiences a few years back I had one molar die and cracked another a few months later. They both had to be pulled and I was given implants. The whole process took over 2 years because of the expense I had to spread them out. My overall experience with it was actually great. My oral surgeon was just fantastic. I healed easily and had almost no serious pain. So, mine was under the best of circumstances and yet yes, it was a traumatic experience, nerve wracking, and expensive. So, Shea, I totally can empathize what you have been through and know that soon, this too will pass. Love your cabin!
