I think you can all be mentors and a blessing for the families stationed at Eielson. Many not living in base housing are probably neighbors of yours. So many Lower 48’ers coming to Alaska feel lost and isolated from the rugged culture and environment and just want to pass the time and do their three years there.

:53, I was just thinking about the kids how both of them are riding in the back seat, yet when I was a child in the 1970’s, I rode in the front seat with mom or dad unless both parents were in the car. And never rode in a car or booster seat, not even a seatbelt! I know that’s not the point of this video, but just a very nostalgic Generation X’er in his 50’s recalling the good ole days, yet raising 11 year old twin boys in Alaska himself that ride in the backseat of his Prius or minivan.

I think this is an amazing idea, I try to do those things every day but having your whole group of followers participate as well is amazing and if everyone they touch passes it on it could be an amazing movement.

I carry extra bottles of water when working. When we see someone standing by road with sign asking for whatever. We offer them a bottle of water. On hot or cold days they are always glad to get a unopened bottle of water. We buy the water that is enriched with potassium and minerals. I have been doing this for a couple years now.

I love how much you think of others and how much kindness you always spread. It’s a great idea to have the calendar and many people will benefit from using this idea. I will opt out not because I don’t want to spread kindness, I do. The bible tells us to be kind, it’s one of the fruits of the spirit and I believe in acting kindly whenever possible. The Bible also teaches us that we should do good deeds in secret, not to draw attention to our acts of kindness. When we share our kind acts we are being rewarded. I prefer to store up my treasures in heaven and my rewards. I think some people do better when they make a commitment to intentionally do good deeds so it’s a great idea.
