In the US, we have to refrigerate eggs, because they are washed and sterilized before reaching the market. This process removes the protective coating on the egg, thus leaving the shell porous. Refrigeration is necessary to keep microorganisms from forming.

I refrigerate my eggs too. We have our own chickens and roosters, so in order to stop the egg developing, we put them in the fridge. But yet another weird thing America does, washing and sterilising eggs…. In my opinion. Shortening shelf life considerably

Brown rice takes double the time because the healthy outsides of them haven’t been stripped away. The outsides are LOADED with fibre and nutrients. Delish too. So lovely of you and Charlie doing up P & G’s beautiful bedroom ! Congratulations to them on their new life in the Cotswolds !

Daylesford cookery and bouquet arranging so lovely to do - wish there was a Daylesford near me - will they expand do you think? I have only been to the one near Chelsea and loved that. The Coronation I am looking forward to but not everyone is a royalist like me so not sure but thought it would be fun to do something and I for one will be putting up the bunting and want to make a victoria sponge and have a little celebration as it is not every day you have one of these. I loved the garden tour and thanks to you I have rhubarb - can't get over how easy it is. I have blossom too and it thrills me. It is the little things in life hey? Your orchard is such a great idea with wild flowers - perfect. Wild flowers mixed in with herbaceous to bring indoors always works. Brown rice I mix with white and seems to help as brown rice crunchier I find even when cooked.

Josie just looking and the artichoke curtain ends, I’m not sure but the round hole that’s on each artichoke could that be an internal screw that once placed you screw into rode to hold firm, hard to tell 🤷🏼‍♀️ The bedroom looks cosy and warm, beautifully done.

I believe the screw is missing from the finials. There is a hole in the finial, and the screw should tighten against the rod to hold it in place.

George and Petra are very lucky that you have done all that work and my bedroom is blue and at the top of the house but a slightly stronger colour from Neptune and as it is on the third floor my theme is stars and I have cushions with stars on and it feels like you are up in the sky. My en-suite and dressing room are a warmer colour but i have painted my wide floorboards white as it gives a more rural feel. Not sure I could go green but love it in their new house. The bed is perfect and I also have a brass bed and wouldn't want anything else. Andrew is a godsend too isn't he? Trying to get hold of my godsend is hard work sometimes as he is very busy. I preferred the white bedside tables so glad you chose them. Dunelm good but the finials not matching????

The bedroom makeover is lovely. I enjoy green in my decorating also. My Grandma never refrigerated her chickens eggs. She kept them in a big bowl in her large walkin pantry which was cooler than the kitchen. That brought back memories.....Lovely content as usual. Many thanks

Great vlog, thanks really enjoyed. It fun your getting so into food health, I am too! I’d encourage you to look into brown rice. I found that the only benefit in my research is the extra fiber but apparently the husk that makes it brown stops you body from absorbing the rest of the nutrients, and that often they fortify white rice. So really brown has more fiber and white has more nutrients (I guess it just depends what your after). The world of health is fascinating and so complicated.

Josie, your chopping skills are good, loved your comment regarding Charlie's. Being pedantic but the curtain pole is too wide and rope style tiebacks would look better than the holdbacks which never look tidy. Your curtain maker would have supplied the pole and finials to fit correctly. You are correct in saying that the ones you bought should have fitted but the pole being extendable was the problem. A very generous gesture on your part.

Josie, this was a lovely video. I am going to be used for a dear friend at her salon for red light therapy, as her Guinea pig..so to speak. She just purchased the salon quality machine and I am going to use 2x a week for 4-6 weeks. I am 69 but have always done holistic facials faithfully and never done injections of any kind. Love watching your Daylesford hauls! Given your love of healthy eating and love of Tim Spector, I totally recommend making your own yoghurt using the fermentation mode in the thermomix overnight. We make vanilla yoghurt which is full of good bacteria and low in sugar and totally yummy, I was thinking of you (and Charlie's advice really!) when I made my last batch. Enjoying the garden updates they inspire me so much to do my own gardening 🌱🙂

The curtain poles come in different diameters so I would think the finials will be for a different size pole, you may have been able to exchange them but too late now as you have put them up.
