I have a gamma stand-up crank machine, model 5003. Got it 20 yrs ago and love it.

I have a Gamma Progression II drop weight with fixed clamps and, although I haven't measured, the tension always feels accurate to me or even tighter. I string at 48-52 pounds generally and my racquets feel the same as when Tennis Warehouse or Holabird Sports strings them. I think having fixed clamps and a starting clamp is important.

Thanks guys for the video. A question: I have strung with the X-2 for a while and gave up because of lack of time and the energy needed for this machine. So I went back to my local shop. What a surprise! For the same string and the same tension, the quality of the string bed was completely different! It felt great. Is that to do with the consistency of the tension? or something else?

I thought you were using the 28” version?

The Part 2 we all knew was coming. I would have thought Harry would know better. Just shows you cant trust everything you find on the Internet. These two stringing videos make me question everything you post now.

Nah, you just used that drop weight machine wrong.
