To be fair, he has been really vague on what his actual implementable idea's are and has a long history of praising actual communist countries, as a whole, until they eventually fail. On top of that he's even been called out be the prime minister of Denmark for peddling lies about Denmark and how it functions. All in all Bernie doesn't exactly have a good track record when it comes supporting countries that are successful, and the ones that don't fail call him out how wrong he is about them.
@cdw24684 жыл бұрын
Relo not really the countries on the whole in my experience, but the functions within those countries. he’s condemned the government of cuba for example while also praising their healthcare, for example

@@cdw2468 www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-election/will-sanders-long-ago-praise-socialist-regimes-hurt-democrats-november-n1139811 Even recently he doesn't have a good track record. He generally backpedals the moment public opinion is rather made up. He went on cuba from "it's all great" in the 80's to "some of things aren't as great" currently. Still wont recognize the issues in Venezuela. And also praised Sandinistas and didn't want to recognize their issues. Add on top of all that he is, almost intentionally so, vague on his political plans and you have a recipe for disaster.

I'd say this game is a pretty solid criticism of socialism. Its similar to how the base monopoly is a criticism of capitalism. Socialism, at its core, is collectivist ideal. With workers taking the means of production and dividing them among the collective whole. And this is represented by the community funds which are the collective funds of everyone playing. The ideal of Socialism is the collective working together for the betterment of the group and likewise, in order to keep the CF (community funds) at a safe amount, the players would have to work together. The problem is corruption. Socialist states has fallen numerous times due to the actions of individuals exploiting the system for their own benefit. This is shown with the win condition of the game. In order to win, the player must use all 10 of their contribution chips. Only one player can win. This is where the chaos in the game is. Players have to both work for the collective, and for their individual needs and these deliberately clash. Not only that, but if a player becomes a milestone (either through typical bad luck, or deliberate sabotage like the 590 bid) they could result in the game ending in a complete wipe and no one winning. Lastly, the reason the board is filled with things like cafes, restaurants, and other city living places is because of the concept of the "Champion Socialist." The idea that the most common person to espouse the ideal of socialism isn't the workers it was created for, but instead young, healthy, and upper middleclass liberals who do so not fully understanding the concept greatly. Akin to a person demanding to "eat the rich" while wearing 1000$ designer clothing. Is it a perfect critic of Socialism? Eh... not really, but its a decent attempt.
