Perhaps I see it wrong,but because of the small area you have to lay down some rubbish on,you need to clean or clear it more often. So when you are ready with the job you dont have to clean a lot because you already did it. This is a smooth surface I saw after pooring the concrete floor.

Never in my life seen a foundation with zero rebar ? Also no poker use to vibrate the concrete ? This property will crack all over ? Brickwork looks wonky ?

In 50 plus years I have never seen rebar or road mesh specified on an extension slab, not needed if the sub base is sound, poker only needed on shuttered and reinforced supers and suspended.

As was said above you don’t need rebar. Nothing will crack. Subbase is more than adequate. You said you work in the UK, so you commonly see rebar in foundations?

@@MayfairCarpenter Irrelevant, a sound sub-base is a sound sub-base, if steel was needed it would have been specified by the structural engineers or BC.
