The Manatees like to hang around the Marinas and sometimes you will see scars on their backs. That’s from the boat’s propeller. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I loved this video. I live in florida but dont swim so this was such a close up view. Closest encounter for me was one to come a couple feet from me standing in the gulf. It was huge. Have a Happy New Year!

In my classes here in Harrison, OH my kids adapted a manatee through Jimmy Buffett manatee adapt amanatee fund. I lived in St. Petersburg, FL unitl moving to OH, however I never saw a manatee until later. My students raised money to support our manatee and recovered updates as to where he went. It turned out he wander all the way up the Atlantic coast all the way to New York harbor where he was seen on the 4th of July. He then returned to FL for the winter. What fun for the kids.

Looks like you were kissed 💋 by a manatee! John Lithgow (3rd rock from the sun and many other movies/TV shows) wrote a book titled "I'm a Manatee" for little kids. I got it for my son years ago. It was cute, so I read it many times to him by request. So manatees bring back those wonderful memories. ❤😊

I'm a 60 year old 5th generation native of Florida's Central West to NW Coast. I know the place in this video very well. I'm extremely concerned for all Manatee's well being. Their biggest enemies are boats and all the nutrients/fertilizers that get washed into their habitats from too many homes, which clouds the inshore waters and kills the seagrasses that manatees eat! When the seagrass dies, the bottom of the bays become nutrient mud! Every year the municipalities just keep issuing building permits regardless to the fact that there isn't enough fresh water in the aquafer to support all the new people. Florida is one of the ONLY states that will not allow offshore drilling because of the spill threat that would harm the tourist industry. But they won't do anything to help the inshore threats to the manatee. It's all about votes and money!

in the 90's i flew down for some adventure, part of it was manatees. i was told there was a season for manatees and this was not the season.... huge dissapointment. there was no active reflection as to a season before i booked my tripo. so i never filled my to do list. watching this both makes me sad and fulfilled. thank you for your vidio... i watched it twice. love you all. thanks
