I am so happy for you and Vossi! You are doing so much for him, and you keep him so beautiful balanced that he can work off that so easily! 🤩 The rest is practice. The mind is key so lots of mental preparation and the results will come! 🥇🥇🏆🦄❤️ Well done! 🎉

Well done. The more prepared you feel, the more relaxed you will be in the test. Also, you really need to know where all the letters are and what the distance is between each of them. As you move up in the levels, the judging will be less forgiving shall we say..... Each movement needs preparation, half halts etc. which are things you will learn to do in your regular training prior to showing.

Thank you! I know, I’m only on my second show😅 trying to control my nerves is priority as it’s blocking everything in my brain, including letters 😩
@falconk9
@falconk9 8 ай бұрын
@@RidingwithCharlotte I have PTSD and have had panic attacks riding so I get it. Knowing there the letters are, knowing the distances they are apart will help you in shows. If you can, set up cones in the arena, measure distances - this will help you visualize the arena. Also, it is helpful to ride through tests a few times before you go into a show. I often do this by talking to myself when I do a half halt, preparation before next movement etc. I have wireless Rode go ll mics I use with my PIVO since I record all of my rides. It's very helpful since you're hearing yourself as you watch the video back of you riding the test.

Each time you go out you look better and better. Its still so new for you both and you and Vossi look like dressage pros already. Have you tried rescue remedy. Its a natural calming spray for under your tongue made with bach flower. I swear by it for any nerve racking experiences. ❤❤❤

Thank you so much!! I’ve been told about Rescue Remedy a few times, not sure I’m convinced it will work as I am such an awful state!! Definitely think it comes down to getting more experience to boost my confidence and memory xx

Obviously, the judges can see his potential. He actually has so much to give bless him. Just keep practising! You know the old saying 'practice makes perfect 🥰 you are both doing amazing, considering you're both ex SJ as well. I've said this before on here that you both look more comfortable doing dressage. Obviously, it's still stressful and nerve-wracking, but you don't seem half as nervous as you did when competing at sj, which is nicer to watch as I'd find myself feeling sick with you when you entered the sj arena 😅😂 As I said earlier, practice, and as you commented on the vlog, maybe more than one test a month will help a lot. Maybe more dressage training, too, with your instructor/ trainer xxx

My dressage trainer also always told me the first test is a warm-up! Good on you. You shook it off!! Congratulations on qualifying for the championships! In the US we call the trot on a free rein the “stretchy trot”. Is that the term you are looking for? You are doing amazing work with your boy. Your love for him it’s so apparent. Congratulations, again, and I can’t wait to keep following you on your journey!!!!❤❤❤❤

Your doing great, give yourself some credit( it’s not easy doing this , remembering everything and staying relaxed at the same time) also if you are nervous/your heart rate is up Vossi will 100% feel that and could be why he wasn’t performing like he usually does(remember they mirror how we are feeling. We feel the nerves get anxious and they show what we are feeling internally ❤️” I put a heart bc it truly is a remarkable thing that our horses show us what we need to work on”). You will get there, you both have what it takes all you need is a bit more “out of your comfort zone time” . You ride beautifully and when you are relaxed you can clearly see it in Vossi. This is something I have to remind myself of every time I’m nervous to ride. My horse is bomb proof and sometimes I can make it look like he’s ready to fly off the handle 😂. All apart of this journey with absolute best partners💙

I wanted to add, this happens to all of us, it’s a good reminder that we need to sometimes look at what’s going on within us to see why our horses are not responding to what we are asking , or maybe distracted, acting anxious themselves. This video shows me right here that you have a horse who is in tune with you, he is bonded to you ( what mom feels/Vossi feels) Love your videos and the content that you put out. I really do wish more people would put out when they have moments, they don’t realize how much these very type of videos help us navigate what other people may be going through . Thank you❤

Congratulations i thought you did amazing. To come back in to do a second test after the first test did not go quite as you had hoped is hard to do. My dressage trainer used to dispair at my circles. They were more like 50p shape than a circle 😂😂xx

I think u look fab! We’ve all had the first test. I ride circles like diamonds and look to the the next quarter diamond in trot and half diamond in canter. I also Google 20 m circles at the point so I can see the exact point of where the horses hooves need to be. Also a dressage trainer once told me to have a good circle u shud only hit the letter and then be gone no strides at a letter
@RidingwithCharlotte

Thank you!! I have done both those things you said, diamond shape circles and google how to ride a circle, honestly it’s all nerves holding me back 😢
