1) Astartes (cause you can’t beat them, there’s no 40K without space marines. And if I have to choose a chapter either Salamanders or White Scars) 2) Imperial Guard. So much variety and the horror of being the average man in the grimdark future but somehow surviving it and having courage through it is so cool to me. 3) Eldar. Wraith Lords, nuff said. Howling Banshees are super cool too. 4) Mechanicus. I love the range of models and their flavor - the lore is fantastic, the insane over complex machinery is cool, and Dune Crawlers are some of my favorite models in the game. 5) Necrons. I love Blood Angels and I love the weird interactions they’ve had with the Necrons. The range is super cool too.

Can't lie man, Left Kieran is the absolute anchor of this show, he never changes, if I'm losted and confuseded, I look left and we're back in familiar territory, if I want inspiration and new ideas, I look right, and right Kieran will never be the same, beard, hair, always changing! It's the best of both worlds!

1) CSM (My main army. My Haarken Worldclaimer that I converted to be my warband's Warlord is probably my favorite model) 2) Thousand Sons (The Infernal Master and Magnus without his chest armor were both a ton of fun to paint, they've got cool lore, and they're fun to play, albeit slightly overcomplicated) 3) Chaos Knights (I only have a Knight Desecrator so far, but I ally him into both my CSM and Thousand Sons regularly. I want to get the Knight Abominant at some point. They're just a pain to store) 4) Orks (freehanding checker boards, hazard stripes, and skulls onto things and not needing them to be perfect is tons of fun. Def Koptas or da Goff Rocka are da bestest. They're also tons of fun to play against) 5) Adepta Sororitas (Fun to paint and play against, and they've got some truly great looking models. I painted their boarding patrol and combat patrol back to back and enjoyed every single model).

1. Eldar - first minutes I bought in 1995 Karandras 2. Ultramarines - Calgar 3. Tyranids - Norn Emissary 4. Chaos Space Marines - tried to start them in 5th edition and got scared to paint them - chaos Terminators 5. Has to be csm for my top, waiting with bated breath for a new huron, I have made my own as like a nonsense abaddon proxy with a guilliman but I've come to love the corsairs since shortly before the 9th codex. Not only just the badab war in general has become one of my favourite pieces of fluff but also that the corsairs themselves in the lore embody the old lost and the damned style of chaos, which I really hope gets some model love.

A little late to the party, but here goes: 5- Imperial/Chaos Knights, only reason I don't place them higher is cause I can't choose between them, lol. They also just feel like such a fun project, but others hate having to fight them. 4- Necrons, best books, easy to paint, sick af models. 3- CSM, I will only ever get them if I can find someone to build and paint them for me, but I've made my own warbands already cause I love their asthetic. 2- Grey Knights, the best combat patrol box, great minis (ignoring dreadknight), DnD Paladin main, psyker/teleport shenanigans on better space marines is awesome. 1- Votann, I want the other half of my range, and I want a more elite army, but for now I'm loving the Bike & Vehicle focus of my space dwarves! Honorable Mention goes to Dark Angels. I love 30k 1st legion, The Lion is my favorite primarch, but I can never force myself to actually build the army in 40k lol.

Combination of lore and tabletop stuff. List written before Emperor’s Children release which would jump to my number 1 5. Sisters of Battle, favorite kit has to be the exorcist 4 and 3 is a dead heat tie between Thousand Sons and World Eaters, favorite kits are definitely Magnus and Angron 2. Imperial Guard, favorite kit is the Baneblade 1. Custodes, favorite kit would probably be the allarus terminators

My favourites (pre 90's) 1) Harlequins (Before GW scrapped their units). 2) Genestealer cult (Before GW ruined their lore with tyranids). 3) Dark Angels (Only Deathwing/Ravenwing) (Friend who introduced me was already playing Space Wolves). 4) Eldar....maybe. (I'm running out of factions I like) 5) Umm...House Escher?

5. Death Guard: Love their revamp in 8th and thereby setting themselves apart from mediocer space marines. 4. Imperial Knights: They are awesome in stomping/shooting stuff. Several models from forge world are now plastic, I love it, my wallet hates it. 3. Iron Hands: Love the grav-tanks, dreathnaughts and the general look of these primaris space marines. Unless WH30k, firstborn never did it for me. 2. Necrons: Very apocalyptic army. Spectacular models and creepy, galaxy spaning lore. The new heavy destoyers looming over your troops is just skynet levels of evil. 1. Tyranids: My original WH40k army and they got me back in the game after 1.5 editions of me taking a sabatical. Their models and lore are just awesome. And I still love the eara of the 'imperial armour 3: the Amphelian Project'. An entire planet drenched in trench warefare with an unfounded (unauthorised) chapter of space marines and ending in exterminatus because of an inquisitorial cover up for a failed experiment. The revamped 'screamer killer' is my new favorite model.

It's really funny hearing the story about the genestealers and the tactical marines because i litterally did that. i had a unit of genestealers with a broodlord and i got to go first. no terrain just the board. i got to move right up charge and took out the full squad. you guys australian because that may have been me haha

Top for me is admech. i dont think i would have gotten into the hobby if it wasn't for how cool they are. Second is eldar, mostly the corsair models i would love more in that style.

5.sisters of battle(nuns with guns) 4.necrons(absolutely love the lore and the models are pretty great just wish theyd do more with the ctan) 3.Death guard(mortarian is my favorite primarch of all and i think the models are some of the best gw make) 2.Adeptus custodes(love my golden boys think there really cool and have some amazing models) 1.genestealer cults(absolutely love my hive mind all the models in the range are phenomenal they feel like a true underdog in warhammer and theyve resulted in some of my best painting of all time) (Also its not consistent that the top two are my 2 main armys aha)

Got a definite top three; 4 and 5 could be any two of about ten. But here: 5. Grey Knights (something about the sculpts, I think). 4. Sisters - the right kind of OTT 3. Aeldari, but specifically Harlequins. Loved them 30 years ago, still do now. Which also applies to… 2. Genestealer Cult - love the models and the gameplay; they fit perfectly with the lore. 1. World Eaters - my main army; the new kits are awesome and great to paint and assemble. Really happy with my force and my personal lore for them. So number one. Honourable mentions to drukhari, thousand sons, chaos knights and guard (but specifically Tallarn or my Khornate traitor guard conversions WITH SKULLS). Keeping an eye out for Emperor’s Children; high hopes for them.

CSM without a doubt for me too, followed very closely by Drukhari and Genestealer cults. I can't wait for a new Huron sculpt, Red Corsairs are the absolute bomb + new bikes too. Please GW new bikes in scale with Primaris outriders would be my absolute dream 🙏 Drukhari are getting quite old but hold their age so well and so much shade for the poor underminers too 😅

My favorite 40K armies are Thousand Sons and Necrons. They constantly fight for the top spot for different reasons. Thousand Sons because I being a bunch of evil space wizards seems fun and I'm in LOVE with their asthetics, but their lacking model diversity holds them back. While Necrons have more of what I like in terms of a wider roster of units, I enjoy the current version of Reanimation Protocols and their lore is peak. Don't @ me. Side Note: Would you consider doing your top 5 favorite and least favorite Age of Sigmar armies?
