Food hosts being so picky about food naturally give bias reviews. Food hosts should ideally like to eat everything and review the food based on how well its cooked rather than what they like and not like to eat. Imagine Anthony Bourdain reviewing food in Asia and say he don't like spicy, don't like bean products, don't like mutton, don't like intestines, don't like this don't like that.... will he be famous? Feel like a food preference video rather than a review.

exactly this. like i can eat basically everything amongst mala ingredients, and i guarantee will say i paiseh if im hosting something like this because of the very little things i personally know i dont eat. like on a youtube channel called 'eatbook', i go there and make my personal view THE view of the show, its really damn gao3 wei4 to viewers lol

well AnThOnY BoUrDAiN doesn’t eat anything vegetarian, gluten free, wasabi with soya sauce, brunch, spicy chicken, truffle oil, … the list goes on. so he practically offend lotsa people watching this video. YOU have your preference so people are entitled to their preferences too

Alot of mala and hotpot shops dont clean the intestines thoroughly which results in it having a gamey taste. Properly cleaned pork intestines deep fried and stir friend in mala sauce, garlic and capsicum paired with beer is just... A taste of heaven

Lotus root is my favorite when I’m eating mala. Unique taste :p

My MUST HAVE in malaxiangguo is pork belly, taiwan sausage, lotus root, potato, tau pok, tau gua/firm tofu and baiye tofu beancurd skin. It really depends on how well the stall cook their mala and each person's taste preference. Some stalls have good pig intestines as they are cleaned well and some even fry it before cooking with the rest of the ingedients. For kelp that is thin like bee hoon taste better than the think flat ones.

I watched many Eatbook videos and this is the most annoying editing done ever until I have to post this. This is supposed to be a nice rating. Rating videos are nice. But what is not nice is this constant Japanese English sound after every single rating. I had to check my tabs and my other software to make sure my computer is not infected with some virus or something until I realised it is coming from the video. The add on sound don't add any value. Having your nice hosts building up the fun and cheery mood is more than enough. Why add the annoying sound? I stopped watching at the 13 minutes mark to post this comment. I think you guys are great, don't fix what is not broken, don't add weird Japanese English Robot rating sound.

Some intestine is smelly especially the one that is not braised so the one in Mala is not braised so can be smelly I tried before and I don’t like it cause I smelly but to your info I like intestines in kway zup but not in mala

I am sorry but I can only see the pickiness of the host and is purely very offending to see food host reacting badly like “puke reaction” gagging, hating the food and don’t even wanna taste it (putting a tiny bit of food into mouth and take a tiny bit) which is very unfair to judge the food this way (cuz most food will taste nasty eaten this way) and most importantly is just common food ingredients not like insect and other exotic good thus seeing the unprofessionalism therefore I would recommend to change name of the video to (name) mala food tier and only represent that one person view dk why I just feel they they are stepping all the food that they don’t like

Super unprofessional...pls review your hosts and assess their suitability before u engage them for such "reviews". Hearing them go Ew and yucks to majority of the food ingredients (common ingredients btw) is so cringey. No matter how good the mala is, they will nvr appreciate because of all their food bias. Basically other comments nailed it - it's a foodie preference video, not a food review. P.s. I have nothing personal against the 2 hosts, just believe that a host should be more receptive to food in general.
