Thanks Pat and Kev. Amazing video! Zeppelin is my favorite band, I love all of their albums but, in my opinion, none of them surpass the raw power of their first, LZ I... and How Many More Times is my favorite song by them.

I don't necessarily agree with your ratings but I really enjoyed this. Several times a year I will listen to Track 1 Led Zeppelin I through the last track of In Through the Out Door in order. It is very hard for me to pick a favorite or rank them. It is all dependent on my room. Every single Zep album is completely different than every other one and every album was designed to be listened to in order IMO. I still remember so fondly the experience of getting that new album. Opening it and inhaling deeply then carefully playing it for the first time, flipping it and listening through and doing it all again.

Thanks, Ed. That's the beauty of listening to music, we all hear it differently. There is no wrong answer. Happy New Year.

4, 1, 3, 2, 6, 5, 7, 8. By the time of 7 and 8 Bonham was losing it to his alcoholism. 4 is tops because of the level of innovation. There is no song in all of rock like 'Stairway'. The way the song builds is fantastic. The lyrics mesh with the music in a way that is really incredible, and the electric guitar riff as the song builds to a climax is maybe the greatest riff in all of rock. 'When the Levee Breaks' is a masterful rearrangement of an old blues song by Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie. They originally didn't credit it properly (which was an early LZ problem on a number of songs), but that doesn't take away from the arrangement. 'Battle of Evermore' is also a completely unique song. 'Going to California' provides a change of pace, and an homage to a place that was seen as a source of social experimentation and innovation. 1 is pure, raw LZ. IMHO, only the songs properly credited to Willie Dixon bring it down. Just don't like the arrangement of either. But 'Dazed and Confused,' 'Babe I'm Gonna Leave You,' and especially 'How Many More Times' drive the album. When people put in on the turntable when it first came out they heard 'Black Dog.' Whatever they were expecting, the got something much more. 'BD' alone made it clear that a new force had arrived on the scene. 'Black Mountainside' showed Jimmy's technical mastery. The others are all fantastic (except 7 and 8 IMHO), but 1 showed there was a new force in the rock universe, and 4 demonstrated a mastery of arrangement, composition, and execution that is unequaled.
