Oh this is very interesting!! I'm new in Madrid and thanks to your video now I have something to do this weekend hahaha. Quick note! The cheese inside Tequeños is called "Queso llanero" which is a sort of fresh cheese but firmer and saltier, it's not mozzarella ✨ so glad you enjoyed it! That's quite a powerful breakfast Also to anyone upset that they're having latin food, the video isn't called "best Spanish foods!", they're simply checking the markets aaaaand, they're free to eat whatever they want 😂 not because you're in Spain you need to eat only local and traditional food. I lived in Buenos Aires for a while and I loved eating Korean and Chinese food there, that didn't ruin my experience nor tainted argentinian food.

Ir a probar comida latina en Madrid…… Madrid tiene su propia gastronomía muy diferente a la comida latina.

no es un video sobre comida española o madrileña , es sobre mercados y lo que en ellos se encuentra para comer.

Maltin is only popular in 🇺🇸 in areas of high concentration of Latinos like NYC, Miami, LA, etc. It was bottled in Venezuela until the early 2000s when the company had to relocate to 🇺🇸 due to the political and economic climate in Venezuela. Fun fact is Löwenbräu which you might be familiar with since it’s German makes a very popular version of Malta “Malt” with no sugar though. Very popular in some countries in Latin America. People usually drink it straight like I do or with condensed milk.

Yeah that's what we thought! Yes, we've got a few malt drinks in Germany that are especially popular with children 😊

Great video. I'm hoping to visit Madrid next month. Can I use my card in these markets or do I need cash? Thanks.

Thank you! We're not 100% sure anymore, but it depends on the market and the vendor. So it would probably be best to bring both 😁

There's these markets all over central Madrid, and this is one of the best, Mercado de La Paz.

Thank you for sharing your video. I have one big Caveat though. The main cultural point of these Markets is that they were created to bring food and groceries to the population in big Spanish cities. That is what they are: Groceries Markets. I understand, from your presentation, that you are looking for restaurants or, let me put it this way, you are interpreting these places as open restaurants, but that is what they are not. Lately, due to the presure of supermarkets and tourism, they are changing to be just a collection of restaurants. In our Spanish culture they were a very important piece for community articulation: neighbours met there every other day, shop owners knew their clients, it was a place to buy and interchange ideas, feelings and problems with others, even to discuse politics….They were more than just a series of restaurants. Sorry for my long text, I just wanted to put things in cultural perspective. Thank you again for your presentation.

What's the point of going to Madrid (Spain, Europe) and try latinamericam food?? Madrid has it's own traditional food, just like the rest of Spain. What a dumb video.
@hermanblinkhoven1856Ай бұрын
Sorry, but this is so embarrasing and actually plain wrong. You cannot rate and judge a produce market, selling groceries and locally grown ingredients, for not being a tourist attraction serving snacks. You are obviously geared towards standardised consumer tourism, promoting fast food and street grub, the type of which has ruined markets like Barcelona´s La Boqueria. Or you believe that food courts from American shopping malls or department stores qualify as proper food. Please refrain from projecting your own taste on others. In Madrid you missed at least three markets with top class eateries - Anton Martin in c/Santa Isabel, which has, among other things the city´s best Japanese izakaya using Spanish fish. The Mostenses market has a remarkable Chinese/Peruvian fusion eatery. The market Chamartin in c/Bolivia has a stall serving outstanding versions of Spain´s iconic regional soups and stews. I do not doubt that you mean well and have a certain audience in mind. As for myself, I buy ingredients to cook and visit the markets to get information on the culture and social history of Spain. Learning from a person who has sold fish or cheese for thirty years is not the same as drinking american beer from a can.

Maybe you were just having a bad day, but we think you might be taking a KZbin video about food markets a bit too seriously. We’re completely open to criticism, but your comment reads like you’re holding in a lot of pent-up anger about Barcelona’s food markets. In our video we’re completely open about the fact that some of the markets we visit might be more produce focused. We love these kind of markets - and the first market in the video is no exception. We really enjoyed it and we also show that in the video! That being said, of course we can rate a produce market on its food options - why not? We explain in the video that tourists will be more interested in ready-to-eat food options. We also acknowledge that a produce market won’t have that much variety when it comes to those. We still enjoyed the food a lot! So we really aren’t causing any harm and the rating system is just a playful addition to make the video more entertaining. It’s also impossible for us to review all markets in Madrid, so it’s natural that we’re missing some good ones in our video. Your suggestions for other food markets to visit are very helpful, so it’s a shame that they get buried between all the negativity in your comment.
