Casa Danny's tortillay will definitely be a hit in my country, it's perfect for breakfast! Stuffed mushroom is what I wanted to try the most, I didn’t expect the mushrooms in Spain to be so big! 7:45 Those are "calamares a la romana". Nobody ate them with bread until the 60s. Then, somebody in a bar thought that those calamari, which couldn't be well preserved for the next day (there were no freezers like we have today), could be "acceptable" in a sandwich for the hungry young people after partying all night for a small fee. And thus the "bocadillo de calamares" (calamari sandwich) was born. People liked it, and up to today.

That tortilla looked absolutely delicious man, but if you ever come back go to the north of Spain and try the Callos there. The stew in the one you took didn't look nearly as thick, sticky and honestly good as the one you'd find in a lot of places in the north (specially Asturias, tbh). They also cut them into smaller pieces which is more pleasant in my opinion. There's also varieties, specially in order to get a tick stew, adding things such as pig's feet, ear, snout...

Luke and anybody else watching this master piece: I'd be not even close to analyse that nicely the local food in Spain. As a madrileño I must warn you that, although Madrid has lots of good restaurants, several dishes are worth travelling a bit and having them in their different Spanish regions. I mean, the best paella you could have in Spain would be in Comunitat Valenciana(Eastern Spain), even though in Madrid you can find pretty decent places to eat in. 3:46 - As the diverse country we are, for instance, churros and porras are different in some places around the country, all of them as tasty as Madrid (except for porras, I guess). 6:04 I'm pretty sure what you had were anchovies instead sardines in La casa del Bacalao, if you want to have the best experience with them, you'd probably like Cantabria and Euskadi (Northeast Spain) , well known by their anchovies, codfish and different types of fish. Definately, if you are into seafood, like shrimps, clams, oysters, and octopus your place is Galicia (Northwest Spain), the real winners in seafood in Spain. 6:32 It was probably cheese, but it could also be a piece of baked potato galician style (cachelo), typically served with pulpo (octopus) and paprika. By the way, that what you called paprika is a special spice called "pimentón", a basis on Spanish cuisine, used all over the country and it could have a sweeter taste, or smoky or even spicy. 9:00 About that carb bomb 🤣 Probably one of my favorite snacks in Madrid, I'd recommend it to have it with a few lemon juice drops all over it. Others prefer to have it with "allioli", a sauce based on mayo with parsley and garlic, so savory and tasty but not for all tastes. 11:23 Tortilla is a big issue in Spain. Definately, Casa Dani gives one of the best. There is a national debate about having it with or without onion but also with the creamyness it has to be served. If you want to try a "rare" tortilla, barely cooked, you should visit Betanzos, a town in Galicia (yes, where the Seafood Masters lived). 13:39 Callos is one of the most typical dishes in Madrid, I strongly dislike it. Again, that sour taste (14:04) you noticed is the "pimentón" flavor (paprika). What I do really felt is your very Spanish way to dip that piece of bread within the sauce. We the locals know that as "hacer barquitos" (to build ships, as they "sail" the sauce) 16:09 No comments. You chose a nice place to have your jamón. You didn't fell on the tourist trap called Museo del Jamón. Not all Jamón is what we call "del bueno", meaning this as good quality ones. Greasyness is the thing, jamón del bueno is said to be sweating that grease, melting in yout mouth. 17:45 That is a fact. We the spaniards are late dinners, from 9 pm, and then if it is possible we stay late at night having our drinks or just chatting. Maybe Sangría is not so typical to be ordered by locals, as it might be considered like more expensive than it would be worth. Generally speaking, people prefer having a good glass of wine instead, just wine (you have loads of them: Rioja, Rueda, Ribera del Duero, Valdepeñas...). 19:30 About your veggies known as Pimientos del Padrón (again, located in Galicia, NW, remember, the barely cooked tortilla and the Seafood Masters). That peppers are said to be spicy or not randomly, as we say "unos pican y otros no" I enjoyed a lot your video, thanks for visiting our country. I encourage you to come back and visit the rest of the country, you'd be surprised, I'm sure. And if you took your time to read me until this very end, sorry if I sounded rude, that was just my humble opinion on that, but I didn't mean it to be so finicky.
