The plug you purchased is a NEMA 6-20P which is 250VAC 20A. The one you needed was NEMA 5-15P which is 120VAC 15A, If plugging into an existing GFCI receptacle or protected circuit you'll be fine with just using the NEMA 5-15P. Note: when replacing GCFI receptacles make sure to use those designated with WL (Wet Location as in Outdoors) in the part number. They also sell "Marine Grade" GFCI receptacles but the quality of the "Stainless" components are pretty bad and not worth the upcharge.

Check your filters, Back-flush the feed system, and check your back-pressure and flow rate. that has fixed several past water maker problems.

All your 120v outlets on the boat should have ground fault interrupt protection. The plug on the unit is superfluous. Replace it with any 120v plug.

The key point on your statement is "should" unless I installed it myself, I don't trust electrical safety systems on my boat. But I'm also an anal retentive professional engineer. 😂

A lot of the fun of watching the ctuisers is them struggling with the troubleshooting and repair of those problems. At least for me. Whatch Ruby Rose, Zatara, Nahoa, Starry Horizons, Curiosity to name a few.

Do you spare lo pressure and hi pressure pumps in spares? Learn how to relplace them guys. Part of sailboat ownership guys. No repair shop between Panama and French Polynesia.

I have been watching catamaran sailors for 2 years and one of the things I was interested that when something failed their videos was always focused on that failure. That was why I made my comment. I have enjoyed your videos and look forward to watching you guys repair that watermaker. Side issue maybe you might look at your spares loadout.

What if your dog fell in the water while running on deck when you went ashore? I would think the dog should be locked inside. And it seems like things are always breaking on boats .Boats are nice but a huge headache in my opinion.

Just out of curiosity, in addition to making fresh water, does your boat have a black tank? Do marinas have a black tank dump location (like RV parks do)? Hope that Cole gets the GFCI plug fixed soon.

Yes, live aboard boats have a black tank and most marinas have a pump out station at the fuel dock.
