Here's just a guess why they changed Sarah's look/ethnicity a little. Pedro Pascal himself is not "white", he's South American, Chilean-American actor. Maybe keeping more in line with his genes, they decided to cast someone with darker hair and complexion? I don't think it really matters at all if I'm honest. She acted well and made a believable Sarah :) Is it random, one small detail I loved at the start of this episode, was Joel reaching straight for a cup of coffee, Sarah handing him Orange Juice, him drinking a sip and then washing it down with coffee? That is such a Joel thing if you've played the game lol.

Just letting you know, you can be a White South American. There's a lot of White people in Latin America in general. Hell it's called "Latin America" because of European colonialism. Not particularly sure about Pedro's case tho lol

Think it may not make a ton of sense for his daughter to have blonde hair etc. with a dark haired, dark eyed father. Obviously like, you never see Sarah's mom/Joel's ex in the game or show, but we can surmise maybe she was blonde in the game.

If you had paid attention to the games, you would know that TLOU2 takes place in Jackson, Wyoming and not Boston. Also, Jackson was not run by FEDRA which is basically a military state. That is why TLOU2's settlement was so much better. 😎

I love how we see more of Sarah and Joel's father-daughter relationship, It made her death more painful to me. I love some of the other changes too. Bella as Ellie and Pascal as Joel was 💯 amazing! No one noticed that this show killed two kids in back to back scenes. Gnarly as fuck. Especially the euthanasia shot., but it gives a powerfully realistic backstory on how they're dealing with the infection. This show is a great representation of the game.

When they wheeled him inside, they tested him for the infection. The scanner was red for positive. They gave him the shot right there. The lady burning bodies with Joel couldn't do it so he dumped him. Fuck dude! SAD ASS SHIT.

@jacobwalker5128 Other characters actually got parts in the show. They just aren't playing their video game characters. The voice of Joel and Ellie are both in the show. Ashley Johnson, who voices Ellie in the game, plays as Ellie's mom, which is fitting, seeing as how she is the one who brought Ellie to life, so to speak. Troy, who voices Joel, is basically a henchman in a group attacking Joel and Ellie in the show.

So glad you guys are reacting to this! This pilot brought me straight back to 2013. I had the same anxious excitement of the intro as I did back then and I think it even hit me harder. I'm curious how faithful the show will be to the games but I'm loving the worldbuilding they are adding. I had some doubts about this adaptation but I'm really pleased!

I think he's in The Mandalorian ... Me: He is THE Mandalorian 😁 both will be running at the same time come start of March which is crazy, when Mando S3 comes out. Such a good show, you should watch (and react) it if you haven't already. Knowing Pedro from Mando is the reason I found and played the game when I found out about the show. I've now played the first game three times, started the second game but got to a point that really annoyed me as I already know what is coming soon after. Haven't returned to it yet. On a sidenote, my hair naturally has a beach wave. I'm the same, straighten it the majority of the time but my hair has a mind of its own when leaving it to dry naturally, it depends on the weather and we know what UK weather is like! I need to move to Cancun, it dried perfectly there 😂I didn't even realise it had a wave until I was in my late thirties.
