We have a tournament on Berryessa this Saturday, so I was watching this while having my customary coffee and Taquitos. Thank you for keeping it real - the anguish of tiny fish and not enough keepers. Do you think the lake has turned over yet? Kudos on that 5 pounder and decent-sized Smallie. 👍 Not to mention any spoilers, but much appreciation for posting and helping with the clinic (you can always learn something!) 😊

You can fish circles around me Greg, but when you come across bait balls you should try a jig or another bottom bait to try to catch the Mundo waiting for the injured and dead shad to drop to the deck ? Just a trick I learned, good luck !

I think with all the rain and lake levels rising it’s increased the carrying capacity of the lake causing more baitfish and juvenile bass. It will be good fishing in a couple years but makes it tough right now.

Surprising lure I do really good up here in Canada with lake trout is a 1oz saltwater style vertical jig. Drop it to the bottom, snap it up, sink back down and repeat. The stirred up bottom seems to really bring fish in to see whats going on or who else is feeding on something. Like Key West Waterman says, "action brings more action". Should give one a try! I had left overs from Los Buzos I brought back home and gave them a try in a lake trout tournament and they killed it.

Your truck has an issue Greg! If I am wrong I guess I owe you a soda or something. I noticed at the 30 min mark your Ram has a exhaust manifold leak sound when you were coming down the ramp to load up and pack out. Sounds like the drivers side. My credentials, been a auto tech for 20 years now and worked at a Dodge dealer for 13 of those. My Ram, my brothers Ram, and a Ram I just did the manifolds for a co-worker on about a month ago, all sounded like that Sir, lol... May want to verify if I am right or not with your local dealer or place your get your service done at. That Hemi sounds like its a chuggin!! Been watching you for years man, learned a lot from ya and just always enjoy your crew and your channel.

Hey Greg, before I bought my native I used the same truck (2014 ram 1500) a lot to take my smaller kayak out. But I haven't used it for fishing sense I got the slayer max 12.5 because I was told I need a bed extender for safety of travel. But I don't think I've ever seen you use a bed extender? What do you think about that? Do you use one, or am I good to just load my boat in the bed of the truck? Right now, I put it on a yakima rack with an ez-loader on my Honda accord
@jamesh7469 Жыл бұрын
Unless your bed length + tailgate height is significantly longer than 50% the length of your kayak, you want an extender. You can get a $50 extender from harbor freight.
