Nick seems to be doing so well. Yeah he is happy there is no school but you are introducing new things at home and he is tolerating them sooo well. Loved the opening with the dogs! Very funny!! I had to turn the news off and just wanted to thank you for the video today. Such positivity! I love how you were able to keep Nick on track with his activities even when he became distracted. John is such a good brother and it was so nice to see them running together for exercise ( not gym because that is a trigger word). You are doing a great job home schooling Nick during these uncertain times. It has to be hard for all parents. Oh, I also like that you made Nick put phone blue away before you doing a certain task, but promise he could have it back later. Phone blue is a distraction. Loved the cooking skills with making the brownies. Hope they turned out good!

We have been putting 'home' at the start of every activity so that our residents realise they are not going out to their day centres and schools to do it. Also there's some accessible corona info for people with learning disabilities, I'll have to try and find it! It seems to have helped a couple of our understand a bit better. Most aren't there yet, but of course they all work at their own pace and many of them it's probably processing time rather than them not understanding the information, and I was actually shocked - the residents who got the most out of the easy read coronavirus info were the ones we were expecting the most anxiety from!

My little grandaughter who is 6(she is newly diagnosed with autism)loves her back being scratched also, do you know if its a sensory thing or do you think they just feeling itchy. Hi Karen. Thank you so much for the message. I think it's a combination of things with Nicholas. He loves the sensory input for sure but he also has dry skin. I've started rubbing aloe Vera on him and then wiping it off with a paper towel in seems to soothe the urge. Nicholas would let me scratch him all day and all night until he's raw. But I know that's not a good idea. Thanks again for the message.
