I can definitely speak from experience that Neem oil will damage a plant big-time if used during the hot temps. I obliterated several of my favorite hibiscus plants one summer. The damage was so severe that most of the plants couldn't make a recovery. It even fried the thick stems. It was so bad! Neem oil is awesome, when used correctly. Just follow directions to the T.

I hate spider mites. I lost all my plants one summer. I didn't notice them until it was too late....poor eyesight.

Ugh so sorry! Even with perfect sight they would be really difficult to see :(
