Reuniting after 2 years! How great! We flew into Greece a few weeks ago (we're US citizens). Glad we didn't need to jump through as many hoops as you did getting into Italy. 10 Day quarantine eating pizzas in Italy might not be so bad!

Great/informative video! I just subscribed! I've been making travel videos in Colombia and Belize lately, and I think I'm about to move to Italy for awhile. I can't wait to get back to Italy! One question, though... you mentioned you need visas printed, did you need a visa to go to Italy? I can't find anything online that says Americans need a visa. Thanks for video!
@TheGlobalExpats3 жыл бұрын
Hey! Ahhh that’s awesome 🤗 I came to Italy when they weren’t opened to Americans yet, so they were being super strict - but because Matteo is Italian, I was let in because I am his spouse. I think as it currently stands, Americans can come on the Covid tested flights flying out of the states, or if you’re in a neighboring EU country, I think Italy will also let you in (maybe just with a negative Covid test). The rules keep changing so frequently it’s hard to keep up 😂 I think you should be fine though, just keep an eye on the requirements needed for entering. Wishing you safe travels! 🇮🇹🤗

Hi! If we are (vaccinated) Americans arriving in Italy from Portugal, will we have to complete the quarantine? Also, how is the quarantine enforced or could we hang out in our AirBnB, go to dinner, take a train, etc.
@TheGlobalExpats3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jonah, it seems that if you are coming from another EU country, you need to provide a negative covid test result taken within 48 hrs of landing in Italy. If you google "Italy entry requirement questionnaire" it asks you 4 multiple choice questions and is the most up to date website we have found for Italy's travel requirements. We hope that helps and we wish you safe travels! :)

I’m glad you made it safely. My husband and I are traveling and have been vaccinated. Would we still be required to quarantine?
@TheGlobalExpats3 жыл бұрын
Hey Rachelle, thanks so much! That’s great that you have been vaccinated, it seems that very soon proof of vaccination would mean you don’t have to quarantine when coming to Europe. Currently though, I think it’s dependent on where you are flying from. I know if you take one of the Covid tested flights from the US to Italy, you just need to take a Covid test before the flight & also right when you land, and if you are negative then you wouldn’t need to quarantine! (They require you to take the test even if you have been vaccinated) The rules seem to be changing every few days though, so just keep an eye on the travel updates. Wishing you safe travels! 😊

Hi. I'm flying in July. Is Uber or taxi considered a private transport? Can I be picked up by a taxi/Uber w/o an issue? I'm not vaccinated, but I'm coming to Rome with a negative covid test. Will I be monitored throughout my 5 day vacation by the government or something, or are they asking us to quarantine in good faith (I wanted to catch a train to Naples for 2 days. Will they be asking for covid docs at places like the train station too)?...or is it once you're in the country you're good to go? Thanks for your help, but I just want to know all the specifics. 😀
@TheGlobalExpats3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ricco, it seems right now it depends on where you are flying from. I don't think Ubers and taxis count as private modes of transport, because on our form we had to put the car's make/model/licence plate number. Although the rules keep changing every few days, so if you are flying in July, there is a chance you won't need to worry about that. No one monitors you in quarantine, it's just on good faith, but again, that quarantine rule may be lifted by the time you come. Once you present your negative covid test to enter Italy, they don't seem to ask you for it again, so you should be good! If you google "Italy entry requirement questionnaire" it asks you 4 multiple choice questions and is the most up to date website we have found for Italy's travel requirements. We hope that helps and we wish you safe travels! :)

@@TheGlobalExpats last question: 🤔 So if I exit the airport and the documents say I must be picked up privately, will I be escorted to the exit be security to insure I don't catch a bus or taxi?....basically will they watch me as I leave the airport, or are they just saying and hoping people abide by the rules? Like I said I'd like to see Naples, and I can't do that in quarantine? Thanks again
@TheGlobalExpats3 жыл бұрын
@@RiccoMarselino No they won’t escort you out or anything like that, it’s more on the honor system, but I think they might be doing away with that rule soon since summer has started!

Did the airport accept rapid covid tests?
@TheGlobalExpats3 жыл бұрын
Hey Jessica, from what we understand, it changes from country to country. Italy accepted them at the time we flew here, however, South Africa was not doing them and so we had to do a PCR test. Your best bet is to Google the requirements for where you will be arriving 🥰
