AC/DC fans are so lucky to have Brian Johnson to replace Bon Scott. They got 40 more years of AC/DC without skipping a beat. AC/DC was as good with him as they would have been with Bon. I don't think that has ever happened in music history.

There's always arguments about who's better, but both Roth and Hagar were extremely successful with Van Halen. Not quite the longevity (RIP Eddie), but equally as huge as AC/DC.

Brian Johnson may have not been the original singer but he still was with the band from 1980-2016 (36 years!) including two of the biggest albums in Back in Black and Razors Edge ten years later.

@@jamesredman1263 That is not true. Bon Scott knew of Brian Johnson during Johnson's time in Geordie, but he never instructed the band to use him in the event of his death like many believe. Bon Scott having liked him, however, was one of the reasons he was initially considered for the role when the band did decide to continue in 1980.

We live on the other side of the world for bands like AC/DC. For us isn't something that happens every day because for them to be able to come to our country they have to make a difference both on money and on experience. So we need to be as many and as crazy as we're in each and every concert. We love music and we become hardcore fans of the bands that we came to love because we need to sacrifice a lot to be able to go to one of their concerts. We don't have a lot of cities that can host something like this so, a lot of us has to go more than a 1000 km to buenos aires (I have to travel between 12 to 14 hours) and actually invest like a month or two of salary 🤣 But I didn't change a minute of my argentinian concert experiences. It's like a freaking communion of insane people, at the end of which you end with a smile and anecdotes that you'll always remember. I strongly recommend any fan of hard rock, heavy metal or any rock music lover to come to Argentina to one of our concerts, believe me, been there, inside that crowd it's a lifetime experience, and Argentinian fans adore to welcome other fans from the rest of the world.

After Bon Scott passed, I remember being struck that the next release, "Back in Black," came out so quickly (about 5 months later) with the new singer (Brian Johnson). I'm sure they thought it was what Bon would have wanted! It was complete with "Have a Drink on Me," which I assumed was a tribute to him, since he died of alcohol poisoning. It was unapologetic and just as aggressive and hart hitting as ever. It was the best selling album of their long career. Their energy has always been so undeniable. RIP Bon 🙏 OI! OI!

Live at River Plate is a live concert film documenting AC/DC’s Black Ice World Tour. The DVD includes footage from three concerts performed in December 2009 at the Estadio Antonio Vespucio Liberti in Buenos Aires, Argentina,[1] which is the home stadium of Argentinian football club River Plate. It was directed by David Mallet, with Rocky Oldham as producer.[1] The recording of the concerts required the use of 32 HD cameras; a company called Serpent Productions was responsible for filming and then producing the footage of the concerts.[1] It was also the band’s last live album to feature rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young, before his retirement from touring due to dementia five years later and his death in 2017.

they were actually one of the most forgettable bands of all time. though, i don't know if i would classify them as rock because they are more of a pop band. they continually mailed it in, were stagnant and lost steam after the first 2 or 3 songs for most of their shows through the years. that's why every single band with even moderate success, regardless of genre, has greatly surpassed them over the past 50 years.

Bon *wanted* Brian to replace him, in the event that anything ever happened to him. He literally told the rest of the band that Brian blew him away, and honestly, Brian's fulfilled the role that Bon wanted him to with beauty and respect. Any Acca Dacca fan will tell you that they miss Bon (we always will) but Brian has always done a banga' job; anyone who says otherwise is just bloody rude.
@Dreyno
@Dreyno 2 жыл бұрын
Also, so many of their best songs came after the Bon era. It would be different if all their best stuff was the first few records and Brian was just covering them. Instead they have a mix of classics from both eras so Brian has the right to sing them all. Unlike, ahem, “Queen”.

The original lead singer of ACDC was Dave Evans 1973-74. Bon Scott was 1974-1980, only 5 years. Brian has been the lead singer of ACDC from 1980 to present and still going strong (RETIRED IN 2016 BECAUSE OF HEARING PROBLEMS, BUT BACK IN BLACK IN 2020). So going for that 40 year mark. Brian is ACDC. All reactions should go thru River Plate! Those Argentinians can ROCK!!

I've been to a few concerts but none were like the AC/DC concert I went to. The energy that the band puts out in their music is unique and unmatched by any other group I have heard. Tens of thousands of people all moving as one to the music is an energetic high that is totally addicting. Picture watching a whole concert like this song, and you are right, Angus has only gotten better over the decades. You wouldn't think a skinny little guy like that would have the ability to put out such high energy for so long. AC/DC was the best and most memorable concert I have ever seen and I don't think any other band will ever match the experience you have at an AC/DC concert. After the concert was over, we were totally exhausted and we were the spectators! I don't know how they do it but they just released a new album, so I wouldn't be surprised if they tour again. I hope that if I grow old enough to be in a nursing home that they will be playing AC/DC like the same way they play the old music of the people who are in there now. If so, you can expect to see old farts jamming out in their wheelchairs and blood pressure meds being passed out in bulk afterwards.
