Having been a major appliance salesman for Sears back in the late 1980s, I can tell you the reason that ranges, dishwashers, and dryers are sold without cords is pretty simple. There are actually different types of 220 volt plugs (3 or 4 prong) depending on the receptacle that is present. Also sometimes the appliances are hardwired for power instead of plugged.

From what I understand, there some manufacturers are moving toward providing power cords as optional accessories, allowing users to choose the appropriate one for their specific electrical setup.

Which means they will charge you for both cords when you only need one and the rest will end up in the landfill. They aren’t free, they’ll just up the appliance price.

The richest person in the world is the person who has enough. I love that! Thank you for sharing that. I believe I will share it also. Love your videos and wisdom. PS I had a water dog. When he was a puppy he did not love the water either. But as he grew up he loved it so much and all we had to say is “Jake, wanna go to the river?!” And he jumped through the window of our ‘river’ car and off we went for hours of fun. Just give him time.

I was told, because in many cases homes/apartments do sometimes have differing plugs, most appliances, at purchase, require the purchase of a cord and plug. So, it makes life easier to match your cord and plug to what is present. Who knew?

Looking at those mountains every day is dream material. Having 4 beautiful and helpful children is a true blessing. Having land enough to build such a wonderful home and run horses, have a barn and productive vegetable garden and orchard .... wow is amazing. The love in this family, the life in Christ leading the way, yep you've got the dream life and so much thankfulness in bucketloads. The odd bump along the way is not I surmountable and contributes to learning and growth. My favourite family to watch every week.

I saw a video of a guy saying something so true and have to share! “If you practice something, you get better at it. So if you practice saying negative things about yourself or others, you’ll get better at it.” I choose to practice kindness and gratitude so I can get better at that. Same goes for resentments or empathy. When people let me down, instead of being resentful, I pray for them and have empathy for them. When we have an attitude of gratitude, there’s no room for the negativity in our hearts. You and your family are always such a beautiful example of how we should live and treat each other and handle life’s little ups and downs. For that, I’m thankful for you and it’s always a joy to see a new video from you pop up! ❤I love you all and I hope you have a beautiful and blessed weekend! ❤

Videos about your normal family “stuff” absolutely delight me. We all have things that go wrong or not as planned. And you’re right - it’s easy to dwell on that and allow it to bring you down. But it’s important to remember that when you live through the things going wrong, it makes you incredibly grateful when things go right. I think one of my most important lessons is to be adaptable and not so rigid. I’m reminded of that saying “If you want to give God a good laugh, make a plan……”. It’s all His way and in His timing, not ours.

In the early to mid 60's as a child, I, and the neighbourhood kids would gorge ourselves on wild Huckleberries all day long in the forests surrounding us. This was in lower mainland British Columbia, and now, houses, stores and busy roads have left those berries as only a memory. May God bless the little, simple things and make the annoyances in life fritter away in the wind. I feel rich beyond measure after watching this video, as I always feel after watching, and am so thankful for this channel, filling hearts around the world with gratitude.

One thing to remember is where the shower rod will be mounted later. That will require a little extra backing. What I did in my rental properties was use silver stainless steel piping with threaded gusset plates on the ends. The rod is mounted solidly into the wall and makes for a sturdy shower rod. There is no possibility of it falling down (think of the crappy rods that use tension pressure to stay in place). There are no thin metal rods here. Your place will be used by teenagers and young adults. They will put things to the test for durability. I do the same thing for towel rods. They are easy to make. Just make an elongated U shape with the gusset plates on the ends. I make them the length between two stud bays. This allows the gussets to be screwed into the studs. It will never get yanked down and also doubles as a place to grab when navigating wet bathroom floors.

Power cords aren't included on dryers and stoves because there are various standards in what is in a structure. Still a lot of 3 prong outlets around while 4 prong has become the code. For dishwashers, most are hard wired so a cord would be a waste.

Instead of getting to have fun picking your own huckleberries, you get to buy them from people that could care less about you .... oh joy! When I lived in a place that had wild black cherries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, huckleberries, thimbleberries, rosehips, this was the best time of the year. You could pick them to your hearts content, and not put a dent in them .... there were just that many. Listen, I watch sooo many homesteaders/farmers etc that I can't keep up with the names of kids, critters etc anymore. It would help to put the names in the description. Even if I know names, I don't like misspelling them. Thanks and have a wonderful night and week Jeremy and Melissa + all the kinders. 🚜🥔🐻❄🥔🐎🥔🐑🥔🐔🥔🐓🥔🍏🥔🫐🥔🍅🥔🌶🥔🫑🥜🧅🥜🤣

To add my 2 cents to im sure hundreds of responses, ovens and dishwashers come without plugs because: a) electric ovens are 220 and those come in either 3 prong or 4 prong varieties so you buy the stove then the appropriate pigtail for your outlet. And b) dishwashers can either be hard wired to the circuit (no plug) or with a std 120 plug, so it depends on install preference. For the dishwashers it’s sorta silly, but I suppose it keeps cost down a small amount. For ovens and stoves it makes perfect sense.

I love the last sentiment of this video and to be honestly, I figured out a while back that having enough is not always an easy thing to understand. But it is also very true, which only makes it sadder that so many do not grasp the truth of it. Having enough is not about having more, it is about having enough to fill your life and not more. It's not about stuff, gear or money at all, but money at least helps you get there. The trick is to find what that enough means for you as in the movement you do, you realize that you truly don't need more that enough. Which means there is no point of hungering for more at all once you get to the point of learning what is enough. For most, having enough is actually far less than many thing because of how out world works. And I am affected by that too, sure there are things I would like, but what did I really need and it was when I realized that, that I figured out what my enough was and my whole life changed as a result. Would like more, sure, but I don't need it, could I do more, yes, and that would be fun, but I don't need it. It quickly became clear that with out certain things so far out of my reach that it would take a miracle to get there many times over, and beyond that I don't need all that much. All the other stuff is what I would like, and not something I must or need and that's when I found my Enough and it made me much happier.
