It's AURORA! We received a recommendation to check out AURORA, the young, wonderful art pop singer/songwriter from Norway. Neither of us had hear of her, so this was our first introduction to the beautiful AURORA world. Let us know what you think of AURORA!

I love Aurora. I'm a 40 year old man (from Norway), I was at one of her last concerts of 2019, and I cried the whole time it was so emotional. I struggle with depression and anxiety, but Aurora sings straight into my heart. Her singing has a healing effect, and I feel like I'm a better person after starting to listen to her music. In the concert she played her songs as EDM, and she hit harder than any metal band I've seen before and made me want to start a mosh-pit every 5 minutes, but the crowd consisted of old people and 14 year old girls, so a big bearded guy moshing through that would probably have killed someone.

In my view Aurora is so much better than Billie Eilish that it's silly to mention how Billie was inspired by her. It's like a local band taking inspiration from Michael Jackson. It's not relevant under a M.J. video. I know Billie is more famous, but that doesn't make her a better artist.

Aaaah! Soooo GoooD! I always say that AURORA is a shining example, so unapologetically herself, both on stage and outside, refreshingly childlike. Not much coreographed in that performance. As you would've seen in her interviews. She herself recommend peeps not listening to her before to start with RUNAWAY, and then do whatever, but that song she wrote at 11(!!!) and it has become more and more important to her as she grows older. That was a very fun performance of a fun song! :D Conqueror has a sort of Marvel comic vibe to it - she's talking about looking for the 'superhero'. There are a number of versions of Queendom available. I would personally recommend the official VEVO video as the first intro. It is a complex and jaw-droppingly gorgeous production - all her vision, illustrating what she speaks of in the song - inclusiveness, diversity and joyous energy. She is a very special human, indeed. And she has expressed that it is clear to her that her purpose in life is to share her talent in a way that will uplift others. Even her heavy, sad songs contain release and hope. Magical and inspiring, imo. Welcome to the Queendom, you two!

When I first discovered Aurora, her Runaway video found its way on my KZbin queue. I think I watched it 4-5x in a row. Then I went to seek out other videos, concerts, and interviews starting with the first half of her musical career. I was all consumed with this artist AURORA and stayed with her for probably two weeks before I even came across the Jimmy Fallon video. Wow! What an expressive live performer she is. I then thought about getting to Norway at the end of her summer festival tour. I checked out last years wrap-up schedule for Norway. I saw that she did somewhere in the neighborhood of a dozen concerts in medium to small venues all up and down the Norway coast with a couple in Sweden. If it happens again this year, I think I wanna be there. It might be a good way to see Norwegian nite-life and AURORA.

So you found the most upbeat song and the most upbeat performance of it. Most of the time Aurora is a bit slower, deeper and darker. I think she got tired of Conqueror because it was pushing her as this very upbeat singer and was a candidate to a radio hit. Still, I do love this performance. And her sister made the outfit.

It’s so weird, I’ve NEVER heard anyone else compare her to Florence Welch but it’s true. They’re my two all-time-favorite artists, and they’re both so kind and quiet with the minds and singing voices of lions. She makes a lot less panicky movements on stage these days because in her early days she used to be unable to channel all of her energy in an efficient way (her own words.)

I love her spirit and gentle strength. I think women love her because they see themselves. There is a soul healing quality to her music. The first step to healing is admitting the pain exists but I was a little concerned because I knew she literally "went" there in spirit each time she performed. I am relieved to see she has moved to upbeat pop arrangements its a positive place for her emotionally. First we cry - then we dance with joy.

Just checked out your video, as I am a fan of AURORA (caps not just excitement, she insists her name is presented this way!) I like to see new reactions. Although Conquerer may appear an unusual pop song, her other works have a wider variety of music backings. My recommendation would be to see her first official video, *Runaway* This vidéo alone made Billie Eilish realise the possibilities of what a young female artist can achieve. Her voice is sublime, with no signs of vibrato over a magical soundscape of synthetic keys and unusual percussive effects. Also recommend *The Seed* official video and *Through the Eyes of a Child* Vevo UK Lift video!

Thank you for a great reaction to Aurora. Runaway is one of her signature songs, and she plays it on (almost) all her concerts. It is also a very personal song for her. So she will often be very emotional when she sings it (especially early in her career). Aurora uses one word to describe her music, and there are emotions. A little bit about about "Little Boy In the Grass" it is for the victims of the Utøya massacre that happened in Norway on 07.22.2011 & for someone who was important to Aurora who died. About the location: Nidarosdomen (Nidaros Cathedral) is a 11th century cathedral of the Church of Norway located in the city of Trondheim. It was built over a 230 year period, from 1070 to 1300. Love your reaction. And since your kinda in the start of digging into Aurora, i always recommend her first TV performence to newcomers. A totally different kind of Aurora than this. Then you would also understand she has had a very interesting development as an artist. Her first TV performence in Norway was what made her known to the norwegian public. A 17 year old, kinda nervous girl, but going into her own world when she starts to sing and closing the song in a way you think shes coming out of a trance. So mesmerizing and cute at the same time.
