Guess I'm older than you are, cause Ren makes my jaw drop to the floor in a way I have not experienced since I heard Jeff Buckley for the first time a few decades ago. Chills, tears, amazement, confusion and the feeling of knowing; the world of music will for ever be changed..

I recently watched Ren tell his story in chapters- he goes into the details of Joe’s death & how he really was running to the bridge after getting a call from Joe’s gf in the middle of the night. He also talked about playing this song for Joe’s parents- I think Joe’s story leaked into many of Ren’s songs (which is why we hear the verse from suicide). This one hit me hard!! Ren’s ability to share his vulnerability & to give voice to those of us who struggle w chronic illness or mental health is truly authentic & beautiful ❤

Ren is the Shakespeare of our time. A true artist he brings art back to it's roots, it's intended purpos, when art meant something, it could change the world! it made you feel, it made us better humanbeings. it made people capable of understanding each other in our differences and learning to accept them. That is the gift that Ren bestows on all those who listen and feel his artistry.

Yes, I agree. I am thnkng the same thing. Ren went home to Wales, donated to the RNLI, saw Joe’s parents-also with a donation, reconnected with friends there. I am pleased for REN’s sake that he is on better terms with this situation - good for him!

The amazing thing about this, this all came from his conversation with Knox, Ren talked about Joe for the first time in years and it convinced him that the song Suicide wasn't complete until he talked to Joe. it's amazing watching the healing process.

One of the hardest things when someone ends their existence is people feel uncomfortable talking about them. Especially with the family. In an effort not to hurt feelings it's like the persons whole existence disappeared. They feel forgotten, until eventually only a few even carry memories of them. What Ren's done is share Joe with the world. He gave the family something precious, the comfort that Joe lived. He is not and will not be forgotten. Even if we didn't know Joe we carry him now too.

Great reaction. Ren said he was going to give us a live version of Su!c!de, but never would have thought he'd take the end of it and make a whole new song that ends with the chorus of Freckled Angels... beautiful and heartbreaking with the Calgary skyline behind him... it hurts, but there's hope in it too...

I am a musician who has dealt with severe chronic physical and mental health as well as Childhood trauma and I stopped performing at 18 because of my health. Finding Ren has inspired me to start playing, writing and singing again for the first time in about a decade. I'm 33 and finally finding my music again, Ren has truly re-awoken something in me that I thought was gone forever. He Is indeed a true artist. His story is such an inspiration and his ability and willingness to be a voice for those of us who have been missing from life for so long is an amazing and powerful thing. Thank you so much for supporting him! I'm also Definitely hooked on your channel now :D Thank you for the amazing content!

From what I heard, the interview with Knox Hill sparked something in Ren to add that ending part of Suicide. He had said the song was already done but after they had that deep convo about Joe he had went back and added it on to the end. So I guess he’s taking that added on part and making it a solid tribute song and it’s own thing now

I am generally not a big rap listener but when Ren raps and combines it with everything else he does, I listen. His ability to make you feel the emotions he is trying to convey is astounding. Ren is one of my 3 powerhouse vocalist with phenomenal range and talent in every style of music they choose to execute for each song they wrote/produce/perform. My other 2 powerhouse vocalist are Tatiana from Jinjer and Ronnie Radke from Falling in Reverse.

Omfg yeaaahhs Im so stoked yall saw this. i JUST SAW THIS amazing mixture of his stories about 2 or 3 days ago? Or whenever the premiere of it was. I COULD HAVE MY DAYS WRONG cuz my Lupus, Fibromyalgia and adhd brain all make me have a SHIT memory when it comes to recalling things or keeping certain things in my brain but this was absolutely GUT WRENCHING and beautiful all at the same time! It makes your heart smile for Ren, for the fact that he is FINALLY, but slowly getting his mental, physical and emotional shit all sorted out, and that he's able to help express his emotions of it all thru his insane lyrics and his amazing music, but It also hurts yur spirit and soul to watch him sing a out his bro Joe. Which i haven't looked up if it was his real bro or a friend he considered to be a bro, and I wouldnt be le to remember anyway which sucks, but none the less its gut wrenching with this version cuz ive seen the other version you guys react to. THIS VERSION IS JUST SO MUCH MORE PERSONAL and hits you str8 into the feelers and the piano keys!! Uuuughh just amazingly beautiful with how he made this song so much more intense. ALSO, at first when he was singing it I didnt even REALIZE it was the song I had heard b4 and it was just a slowed down version of it, where he is able to still show just as much pain, hurt, grief, and sadness, while also showcasing his amazing talent.. his freakin voice control is amazeballs and how he places every note, and key with his tones and diff levels of his voice in certain portions of the song. THIS ONE JUST PULLS YOU IN FROM BEGINNING 2 END and even leaves you wanting more. I mean...doesnt he always?? Haha its just insanely sick and I cant get enough of this version i hope one day that rmRen & 21 pilots do a collab, and same with NF!!🫠🫠🥺🥹🫶🫶✌🏻 Also the fuckin HEARTBURN COMMENT Ab-so-fu-ckin-lute-ly it does. wtaf is that bs?!?! Thanks for the nice reaction. On a side note, it really bugs me how many folks seem hell-bent on assuming this is a new song called "For Joe." It's not. Ren never said he was releasing a new song (he literally dropped a new single 2 weeks ago, ffs). He said this would be a "special live performance," and that's exactly what it is. It happens to feature excerpts from two existing songs, plus some new verses and melodies and arrangements. What part of "special live performance" do people not understand? 🤣

I don't expect every one to know every song Ren does, but yeah Freckled Angels was an album of his from 2017. It was just a special live performance of a song he wrote for Joe 5 years ago and didn't tell us what it was about and the song he wrote for Joe and did tell us what it was about.

If it wasn't for reactors like you then I wouldn't have listened to this multiple times and I wouldn't have been able to fully appreciate it. When I first listened to this song I didn't really care for the first verse. I didn't think it was bad by any means but I just thought Suicide's version was so much better. Then I realized something. In Suicide it was like an open and bleeding wound. In this the wound is still there but it is healing, which goes perfectly with the theme of this song.
