We Really Need Bigger Trucks | Transport Fever 2 | Race To The North | Episode 7

Hello and welcome Transport Fever 2 series!
We're racing to the North today where we've got a jam packed episode of trains and trucks! We're going to get that freight link up and running first of all so that we can transport Machines and Food up to Cambridge, thus helping with the cities expansion.
We're also going to be starting on a new passenger route between London and Swindon (via Reading). There's a lot of road traffic between the cities which is hampering our lorries, so it's definitely time to try and build some sort of railway!

Joe, there are some traction engines on the Workshop. You can replace all the horses and carts with them.

I think it's always better to transport cargo intercity with trains then transport it intracity with trucks, considering you already connected london and reading with train anyway

I do love using trains, I just wanted to vary it up a bit, and I completely agree especially this early on… maybe trucks were a mistake haha

I agree early in the game trains are best as trucks are absolutely useless when you get more actual trucks

For the truck situation, wouldn't boats work for that bit from Reading to London (and then have maybe some trucks in London doing the final leg)?

10:06 don't think you can do it on this map but try and do one goes from Edinburgh to Burningham via Newcastle, leeds, york like what the Aberdeen to Penzance cross-country train does

Cant wait for better actual trucks hope you think more logistics this time and have not just train but good truck routes and busy hub style yards, and when it comes to oil there are mods that make truck stops look like oil yards :) o and again download level crossings with gates ;) haha

Hi Scott! Yeah it'll look so much better won't it, and we won't need quite as many vehicles clogging up the roads. I think I've got the level crossing with gates mod, it just doesn't default to it :)

Hi Joe, I came across your videos and I'm really enjoying what I'm seeing, so I subscribed. However, I noticed that in most of the videos I've watched, your timetable mod doesn't seem to be updated. The reason I'm mentioning this is because in my TF2 game, I have an "Autounbunch" option. Maybe it's worth looking into
