Thank you so much for the virtual makeover of my apartment, being able to visualise the possibilities has given me some fresh ideas I hadn't thought of before. The kitchen manufacturer had also suggested I get the same flooring throughout so I'll be looking into that. For the walls I did initially consider a faux limewash finish but the idea got derailed when I blew my budget on the bathroom. Adding feature paneling is not something I would have thought of until I saw it in the video, locally there are several styles in fashion at the moment including a slat sound proofing version, and another that allows for movable shelves. The ceiling idea looks like an elegant solution to some cosmetic issues I wasn't sure how to approach and it divides up the space nicely. The ceilings are a little bit higher than average here, I had wondered if I had enough space for a loft bed. The dining area and desk space give me two areas I can work out of. I had the romantic idea I would be working from the local beaches, gardens, coffee shops or co-working spaces but I get more done at home and not having a dedicated area has been a real headache. Someone mentioned in the comments a space for shoes, there are slimline shoe cabinets available from places like IKEA I've had my eye on that fit that exact corner next to the door, they come in both a cottage style panel and a scandi veneer. Thanks again, Alex 😊

I think the built-in bed will capture all the light from the window together with the wardrobe (that needs to be 60cm deep for clothes to hang). It can be minimized with a lot of artificial lights or maybe a lighter, reflective ceiling above the bed... but still. It all looks really cramped too. I think if you still want to move around in this room, you'll have to ditch something. Maybe the coffee table or opt for a single comfy armchair instead of the sofa.

@@cheesecake4648 you need to realize you're not in possession of the facts, instead you've posted nasty jabs all over the comment section while hiding behind anonymity. No landlord would want to rent a property that size to three people unless it's an Airbnb and I doubt a real estate agent would either. What you're framing me as and attacking me for sounds like opportunistic subletting which is something entirely different and a serious accusation to be making. I'm under no obligation to improve the property, it met the minimum rental standards when I bought it and short stay accommodation is in high demand during summer here too. I could have rented it out in that condition if all I cared about was money. Worst of all that's my home you're talking about, sneering down your nose at someone's first rung on the property ladder is tone deaf, especially in this economy. Both myself and the channel owners have gone to a great deal of trouble to produce what you're commenting on. The content creator would not have been able to clarify what the final market is for the property because it wasn't part of the brief I sent them. Owning a home does not mean controlling the market it exists in, it's common sense to design for the broadest possible market when dealing with something that's not a forever home. In spite of the limitations I think the creator has done a good job with what I was able to give them to work with. The proper course of action for you now would be to edit or delete those nasty posts and apologise to me and the channel owner. I don't know what you thought you were trying to achieve.

The owner specifically requested not to alter any walls or structures, The bathroom also has proper ventilation since it has its own window. We just forgot to show it in our 3D model. Also, To ensure the main window remains functional, we left a gap so it can still be opened for airflow and light. We also used bamboo blinds to soften the light, maintain privacy, and keep the space breathable.

@DesignBurst-2024 13 күн бұрын
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! 😊 Let me clarify how we carefully considered the placement of the ladder and the custom wardrobe. While its true that ladder is fixed, and yes, it partially blocks the wardrobe only when the closet doors are being opened. This happens only while accessing the closet, and since the ladder isn’t used all the time, it doesn’t interfere with the space’s overall functionality. The wardrobe remains fully accessible. The upper portion of the wardrobe can still be used for items that are less frequently needed, while the lower drawers provide convenient storage for daily essentials. As for shoe storage, we’ve integrated drawers under the lower bed, which are spacious and easy to access, making them a perfect spot for shoes and other items. Lastly, the AC routing was planned carefully to keep airflow efficient and unobstructed, ensuring the space remains comfortable and cohesive. Every design decision was made with functionality and aesthetics in mind. 😊

That design is a nightmare to live in. That upper bed idea right in front of the window is a disaster !!! Not only does it obstruct light, it also prevents you from basically opening the window and letting natural air into the room. This is such a bad idea ! Also, such a small space does not need a second bed, because it is meant for someone living alone. Guests can sleep on the couch, or on a mat directly on the floor. You do not need a permanent bed in case of guests. Also, considering the space is meant for one person, the dining area does not need a table big enough to fit 4 people, while the working space is cramped between the toilets and a big distracting TV screen. The better option would be to have the dining table (small one with two chairs) fit somewhere in the living space, and give more room to the working space by putting a big desk with drawers next to the kitchen. Regarding the living-room, considering the screen is mounted to the wall, you do not need to put a TV console under the TV. Take the console away, mount the TV on a rack so that you can push it up when it's not used and down when you need to, and replace that tiny desk with a big table that extends from the toilets wall to the middle of the TV screen. Either use that as the dining table, or if you want to keep the working space here, put a big desk with drawers underneath on one side. You also now have room to put a bedside table next to the bed.
