It takes a little time, but with steel wheels, you can remove the tire and take a hammer and chisel, and make a bunch of chisel cuts about 1/4 inch apart all the way around the inside of the bead so that when you mount the tire all those chisel cuts will grip the rubber and keep it from spinning on the wheel. A lot of offroad wheels come with little "cuts" around the bead for that very reason.

Put gasoline on a rag it will help lube the bead, and once the gas dries, it will also melt the bead to the rim
@Lesterman_17 ай бұрын
I work in a tire shop and yes, if you have a painted rim and a freshly mounted, slicked up tire; the bead can 100% spin and leak, depending on what you do with your tires. I occasionally hear tiny "sneezes" as the wheels are at full turn, while turning into a parking spot. There's a "just right" amount to use but, any kind of lubricant or sealant needs to be allowed to dry or "cook" away before you can "Hoon" with your fresh tires. Beadlock is the way to go, if you want no spin and to keep your beads from being able to fall off. Well, if it falls off bead locked, you've got bigger problems! 🤣

@16:18 they sell screws for this exact reason, they are not long enough to go through the rim and the rubber, summit racing sells them for vehicles that run street slicks with inner tubes, you drill the rim with 6 max each side of the rim, 6 on the front and 6 on the back of the rim...

As for th350, what I have in my racecar. Future reference is without vacuum it will do as precision transmissions said it "stack shifting" so just a simple vacuum line and good to go. There is even a way to have both, ways. By locking one valve in place and welding the weights out on the governor you have normal auto or manual, put it in D for auto, 1 & 2 for manual,
@Redsfanatic327 ай бұрын
It’s a full manual valvebody on the th350 that Justin had built. He said it in the video. It doesn’t have an “auto” selection. Just 1, 2, and 3.
@MsLoneWolf47 ай бұрын
@@Redsfanatic32 yes and i said FUTURE REFERENCE! and sharing info for other people using similar harware thinking they need order parts to do similar things but instead they are simple dyi methods to do same job and hold up, example my dirt racecar revving a 602 up 6600 rpm thru the night of racing. and survives when the atf is lost due to axle pulling out the drive shaft because the trailer arms breaks.
