Liam, age 14 was asked by Cowell to go back in a year or two,, he did , age 16, and he was rejected again only to be brought back to be in a band. So he was told he wasn't good enough but to come back and then be told he still wasn't good enough but good enough to be with 4 others. If u have a fragile ego that can play havoc on a person. Then just as they r doing well they break up and he was lost for a while. One of his last statements on night of his death was so true and the crux of the matter and backs zayn's thoughts here. Liam apparently said he had been part of a boy band and that's why he is so fcked up. Cowell shld grow up and stop thinking of himself as a god playing chess with human lives. He shkd also remember they r very young lives. Even the Scottish woman, who had health issues, needed help. Cowell did help her but how much pressure was put in him for that help.

We live in a society where men are supposed to be the ones who are tougher and stronger so they tend to not show their true feelings and emotions. It’s not fair that they have to keep their sh*t bottled up because a person can only hold in so much until they lose their sh*t completely. It’s gotten a lot better than it used to be but there’s still this stigma around masculinity and not showing your emotions that needs to be forgotten. There’s a reason why women outlive men….

I was never a huge One Direction fan, but this recent tragedy with Liam Payne has made me learn more about them. It’s surprising to realize just how popular and successful they were-and yet each of them wanted to pursue a solo career. I think we all do that in life: we chase the bigger house, the better job, the nicer car, instead of appreciating what we have in the present. I believe if they’d been treated more fairly and not overworked, they might have enjoyed a few more years together as a band. For a group with such massive global success, their time together was actually quite short compared to most bands. They were at their peak, constantly touring and recording, and if they’d had the chance to enjoy it without being pushed so hard, I truly think things might have turned out differently for them. That intense timeline seems to have really affected Liam, especially. It feels like the hiatus set him on this challenging path, and it showed in his struggles to fully launch a solo career. I think it impacted each of them in different ways, but for Liam, it almost seems like the start of an unfortunate path. So unfortunate that he didn’t have the right people surrounding him in life. I pray that he’s at peace. 🫶

True, and they all were jealous of him to a degree s well. I like Harry, but he definitely was quite the machavellian

Zayn is too generous. They were more posh and were never exposed to racism, xenophobia, or islamaphobia. However, i understand he's generosity in hindsight towards his bandmates as they were children just like him when they started and had dreams and worked to have music careers. I remember seeing footage of Zayn standing up to a journalist who called Harry styles a womaniser, he stood up to a paparazzi wjo knocked Niall down when Niall had a knee injury ar the time, he called Louis the leader and funny, he called Liam strong. No one stood by Zayn when he was exposed to racism. The closest was Louis who stood up to Piers Morgan by using jokes to help Zayn out.

I think maybe “they weren’t exposed to it” isn’t the best way to word it bc they were exposed to it. I think the issue is, and maybe what you meant, it wasn’t directed towards them. And bc they’re not POC, it doesn’t affect them the way it did Zayn. I don’t know why they didn’t step up for him but I wish they did.

@VONiiE8 Yes, good point, because it didn't affect they had no need to call it out. They didn't say anything because it didn't affect them. I believe Zayn saying he "took it too seriously" is gaslighting said to him...and now it's entrenched in him. Bet management told Zayn to get out over it the racism and to not be sensitive and not "take it too seriously". His management and bandmates were not really there for zayn and never " truly" had zayn back...the way he had their backs. Look at this interview he gives his bandmates grace, having their backs ...they never did that for him truly.

You have to understand how contracts work. The other 4 were between a rock and a hard place. They weren't allowed to say too much. There's alot of politics that goes with it, which Zayn also touched on. In the interview where that twat asked Zayn how his religion affected his outlook in his career, Louis subtly pulled the finger and Liam gave her the death glare. I know it sounds like a cop-out but they were torn. Ultimately, the real reason zayn left 1D was because the manager who took over from Paul, pushed him out over time.@valeskacanas9187

He realises now that the grass is not greener on the other side. He sees how good he had it in One D as opposed to being a solo artist. At least he realised the value of it even though it is after the fact.

No I don't think that he regrets leaving, he just regrets feeling resentment towards the band when he should've enjoyed the boys and experience more to a certain degree... leaving the band was the best thing because it allowed the other guys to Branch off down the line and Liam needed that despite his love for them all

He is not disputing that the grass wasn't greener in 1D or wish he could go back, he is just reminiscing about the good times of 1D which I'm sure he is grateful about, but also grateful about the fact that he went solo because his solo projects gave him the opportunity 1D didn't give him to express his individuality and make his own decisions. Both sides of the coin were good for him.

That’s not what he’s saying at all lol being in 1D was awful for him. As a solo artist he is able to make music he wants at his own pace and decide which media to do. Trust me, he much prefers being solo

It would never be a camaraderie when you’re solo artists forced into a band from the start

They were hardly solo artist before. They were actually terrible on tv. Except the one that died recently, he was good. RIP
