Love how transparent you both are! Don't sweat it with the youtube income... most channels don't make a high "click bait" amount. The fact that you enjoy it is the most important thing. The tax deductions make it nice because you are now traveling, so you should be able to write off every penny and clear that amount tax free!

It really is amazing how little KZbin pays. Maybe if you start jumping off buildings, your income will increase. You make a good point though about having a few different streams of income. This is also our thinking. Our channel is mostly about starting and running a plant nursery as a retirement business. Thanks for all your great videos, Larry

I've been following your channel since you started around 3 years ago. I'm glad you two hit your goal this year and retired early. I hit FIRE two years ago at the age 42, but stayed at my job for another year. I left my job during October 2023. I'm still in the US, but plan to live overseas for a while. Some of my assets are similar to yours, but my dividend stocks pretty much is my income. A portion of my net profit from rental properties are reinvested into my ETFs, index, and dividend funds. Fortunately, my rental properties are in areas where rent prices are high. Also, I was among the lucky Dogecoin folks and cashed out at its high during 2022. This was what really drove me way over my FIRE number.

You're coming up on one year retired! Congratulations! How does it feel? Dividends are our favorite thing at the moment! 😉 We definitely recommend living abroad for some of the time... you get to explore new places, try new things, and depending on where you decide to go, you can also save a lot of money! @@FIREWeGo Of course, one day I would want to retire early as well with at least 4 income streams as you shown. I see youtube income as a fluctuating dividend ETF payments lol, you keep making videos, you keep making money. Just for perspective, you would need to invest $240,000 to make $1,800 in 3 months from a stock that pays 3% dividends per year.

The income symtays in Brazil to cover expenses at the condo and cover our living expenses when we are here visiting. Our accountant also uses the tax paid here on our tax returns in Canada.

Thank you for reaching out! You're right. We sold our principal residence in Canada and invested the money. Most went to top up our TFSA accounts, and the remainder went into our margin accounts. Thanks for sharing. Question: Did you buy the dividend stocks during the pandemic lows after selling your house? That would help add some perspective if this is repeatable for others to get a ~7% annual dividend return without taking excessive risk (e.g., put more money in high yield stocks)

You guys made me feel better. I just retired at 67, with 60k in military pension/civil service pension income and 4 rentals which gives me about 40k. I am trying to hold out until 70 so I can get about $3,700 in social security a month more. I only have $54k in good yielding stocks which gives me from $125-$212. A month. I still feel pressed.

Your story is awesome! Curious how you handle income tax. I’ve maxed all the registered accounts (rrsp and tfsa) but still have a 7k tax bill each year since I have gics in non registered accounts that aren’t that tax efficient unfortunately. I assume since most of your income is from dividends that are tax most efficiently and you don’t have many non-registered GICs?
@FIREWeGo
@FIREWeGo 3 ай бұрын
You are correct! We don't have GICs, and the dividends we have in our margin accounts are all Canadian dividends, so they're pretty efficient!
