I'm from João Pessoa and love this city. It's not a perfect city as no other in the world and it's natural that it has its problems, but if we evaluate the pros and cons the results are positive. Compared to the biggest cities in Brazil as São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, or even to Fortaleza or Salvador, João Pessoa is uncomparably better. We welcome every new citizen who comes to promote peace and contribute with the progress of our city. God bless.

thank you for the video, there aren't many about it explaining the process.. I have 2 questions , in case someone know the answers : - When do you have to pay the interests ? Is it monthly or annually ? - Can you do it with a no readvanceable heloc ? I have renewed my mortgage and there is a 45K heloc attached , Can I simply invest this Heloc the same way ? Thank you

Great question. The interest is charged monthly, and for the second question, it depends on the product. We had ours with RBC.

How do you buffer yourself against market dips or if the market dumps? Are dividends different or are they subject to market fluctuations?

Good question. We have a savings account that is used when these moments appear. Any stock position, growth, or dividends.. they're all subject to Mr. Market. Best way is to always diversify 😉

Great city.... yet.... a city in transition. Real Estate market is really hot. It seems to be going through a process of "gentle" gentrification. Problem is : seems to be a great place to live today .... yet .... what about 3 or 5 years from now? The city seems to be going through a phase of great word of mouth attracting a lot of people into the city which brings along with it its own set of potential problems. And that's usually my issue with Brazil : it's a country which is very unstable.

Nice job on the budget! We're on the retirement/severance package for one more month, so in 2025 we'll be living by our wits and our plan just like you guys! Our 13 year old is now more interested in traveling so 2025 will be a hybrid year for us. He'll finish 8th grade (through May) while we're updating passports, researching online/homeschool and setting up some travel plans. We'll do some test travels in 2025 and if all goes well, we may be joining you as full-time travelers in 2026...including selling the house! Thanks for all the great tips and inspiration!

@ I would like to understand your phone plan in more detail because it is very low cost and I can’t believe more Americans or Canadians aren’t using it for their everyday phoning needs. I’d like to know your withdrawal strategy - meaning, do you just dump the dividend payments into an account and spend from that account? I’d like to understand how you build community/friendships when you travel. Do you go to expat events? Do you ever travel with other couples? What about car rental in Brazil? Possible? How much? Is it better to get a driver? Where is your “permanent address”? Brazil or Toronto - and why? What do you do with your KZbin income? When will you reach Canadian retirement age and will you take OAP and/or Social Insurance? Which VPN do you use? Any problems with it? Can you walk us thru the process of using any of your software such as the travel spending software that you touched on (i.e. with screen view of the software so we can see a demo sort of). Walk us through a daily routine in Brazil. I hope these give you some starting points - I realize that after so many videos you want feedback on what the viewers want. Trust me, it’s all been good!

Thank you for sharing. We are at the edge of retirement and you are really inspiring us. We’ve been taking off 4 times in the last 6 years visiting USA Canada 4-6 month at a time with our dog in a Travel trailer. We are planing visiting the world or some parts of the world and can wait in what kind of adventure your are getting into in 2025. Enjoy your time in Folrida sunshine state. For us we will continue packing up $$ until we think it is enough.

That's impressive for two people! My US budget is $2400 just for one. Eating out has really escalated the past year here. I do find affordable options on most menus, though. An example, we went out for Mexican this week. My entree was $16. I considered a hors d'oeuvre (nachos), but they were $18! No, thank you! I hope you're enjoying our cool winter weather in FL. Curious, what is your plan against inflation? Is your Canadian "social security" adjusted for inflation? Maybe an idea for a video(?).

We have noticed that the cost of eating out here in the US is extremely high! So far, our time here has been great, visiting with family. Our Canadian social security is adjusted to inflation, but we also have half our portfolio in growth funds, and at the moment, our dividends are keeping pace with inflation! If inflation gets too bad, we will spend more time in low cost of living countries in order to spend a bit less money 🤗

Breaking down a budget by day gives a whole new perspective. I've been to 40 countries but am back in the US. Everyone thinks living in America is expensive but it doesn't have to be, I rent a fully-fitted loft in a major city, use public transit & rideshares, cook at home but get food delivered twice a month, watch lots of streaming services, have high speed wifi & smartphone, decent health insurance and live a comfortable life on $60/day ($1800/month). I'd move if I could find someplace cheaper that's as convenient!

We are between Orlando and Miami! We bought our flights with points, one was with Alaska miles for 17.5k points and the other with Virgin for 25k points! Return to Brazil is 20k each with Air Canada Aeroplan!

That will fall under miscellaneous! We use a firestick that is billed annually and a streaming service that is billed every 4 months! So they will show up at that point 🤗
