Watching this 4 years later I wish this compass trailpass finally makes it to production or through a special edition version of the compass trailhawk I would buy it in a heartbeat

I would buy it all day. Compact, seats 4 comfortably, but can still get along a bumpy trail handily. Give it a 1.5" lift and 30" tires and I will line up with cash in hand... just don't ask where it came from.

Currently building one some what . 2011 compass latitude. Stock ride hight for now but ordered the 2" lift running 215/65r17 now moving up to a 225 65 r17 with no lift currently kn intake go pedal rock sliders roof rack rigid pods on pillar and 2 piaa on custom bumper im fabbing at work with 12000lbs winch 2 inch receiver recovery track jerry can of fuel shower on other side with awning. That pulls out to roughly 6'x4 . Its just a weekender . Ill start posting on my channel soon once parts start coming in .

Those tires are actually a big step up. 29.6x9.6 versus 28x8.5 Not bad. plus the sliders. Give it another 30 lbs-ft of engine and it would be a great little buggy. So, compass, plus lift plus 245/65r17 BFG KO2 (yeah, they make that size) and you've got something that, aside from power issues) would take you to some neat places pretty cheaply.

Cheaply?? from the price of the Compas Trailhawk to THIS dream versions you will have to pay the same money as for buying a 2017 Cherokee Trailhawk and you will get a far better4X4 system with locking rear diff, 3:55 rear diff if you take the tow package, 271 HP engine, 245-65-17 with black wheels, much larger cabin interior,and lastly to my humble owners point of view; a very beautifull body design!!

Concept kings that never go into production. They had the new Cherokee lifted with 33" tires concept that really looked good but will never be made. If only they would sell modded Grand Cherokee's, Wranglers, Cherokees with lift kits and larger tires there is a huge market for it

Seems to climb embankments really well for what it is. You couldn't think of doing that in any of the competing crossovers and I'm not sure the standard Compass would like it either. I might want even more aggressive tires on it though.

You’d be surprised actually - there’s a guy in our jeep club who occasionally brings a 70th Anniversary to our trail days - its only got a 2” lift kit in it and runs on 235/65/R18 - ill be honest - somehow or another he manages to keep up with us in our cherokees and wranglers. I’m very much considering getting a compass myself for my partner, whose annoyed cause I wont let her drive my Cherokee.

You can not add a lift or tires that size without jeep voiding your warranty. The compass tires are at the tall end of car tire sizes and 1 size below a light truck tire. To get an all terrain or mud terrain tire you have to go up at least 1 size and dealers say it will void the warranty.

I really hope FCA is able to get the Diesel certified for the US market. Because now that VAG is out of the market, there's a huge hole of potential economy buyers aching to get their hands on a small, efficient Diesel engine... and the Compass and Renegade could really benefit in sales filling that market slot.

The ecodiesel is being investigated by the stupid EPA. We've had no updates and it's been 4 months since the 2017's stopped production

Tom, be careful what you wish for. The diesel engine in the Jeep Wrangler here in Europe is an agricultural dog and the public health lobby has turned against diesel, meaning that it will soon be heavily taxed (after our government encouraged the sale of diesel vehicles because of their lower CO2 emissions). Better to develop a more economic petrol engine.

Mel, I think you're right, it's an Italian 2.8 CRD engine. The diesel is tempting for the extra MPG and also plenty of torque for towing. However, I went for the V6 petrol engine in my Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, which is smooth, but it was nice to have the choice of a diesel here in Europe, unlike you guys in the good ole USA.

It appears some of the modifications featured on the Jeep Trailpass Concept will likely make it to the Mopar off-road parts catalog, most especially those rock rails.

Mine had 40 ft-lb o torque and I used reverse as the lowest crawl ratio sometimes. Seems à bit overkill adding skid plate to under pan.

You know the problem with this. It's basically the same thing as the trailhawk Cherokee, just different styling. And I like it, just recently purchased a trailhawk for my fiancé and I would definitely sell it for this one.

This is just like the Cherokee dakar. All of the parts are available to do this but if you do it you will void the warrant. This is a way they sell more with people thinking they can turn their compass or Cherokee into an off road vehicle. Its a way to con people into buying nothing more. Its funny as shit that the fca, jeep and mopar channels block my comments. They have nothing to say about the compass streethawk.

oh wow, another "jeep" AKA Fiat with a jeep body and a POS 9 speed transmission. FCA has got to be the WORST vehicle you can get at this time to be honest, i would never touch one even as a rental i dont think. get rid of that stupid 9 speed transmission already for something thats not gonna break down every 10,000 miles
