Great Episode!. I've bought my first boat this year and I'm on my final week of singlelhanded sailing from Kiel, Germany to Stockholm, Sweden. Would probably not have started it without your videos, so thanks a lot! Truly inspirational!

Two Frenchies aboard and no corkscrew in the toolbox ? Unbelievable 🤣 You could have tried a soft and slow technic that works fine by just tapping on the bottom of the bottle with a shoe or a rubber hammer ; the bootle being of course upside down. The shockwave is transmitted by the (incompressible) liquid to the cork that is pulled out millimeter by millimeter...But your field of competence is first and foremost sailing so you're not to be blamed 😃 Another great episode

another epic video...highlights pour moi was the spinnaker takedown at night (no one shows that in sailing videos) and the bottle opening operation on New Year's Eve!

Does the Sailing FRENCHMAN need to turn in his passport for being caught without a corkscrew? I’m sure Ryan bought skates...ok not sure about that actually, more likely Maple Syrup

Cordialement.

Hugo, nice to see you posting regularly again. I've sadly had to sell my boat recently, so your videos are giving me the sailing fix. Your travels are a lot faster than my Seawych that did 4kts max..

Next time push the cork into the bottle, instead of trying to pull it out. Only downside is that you have to finish the bottle in one go. Should be no problem for you guys.
@bobrat2 жыл бұрын
After pushing the cork in take a 1/4" line and tie a stopper knot. Dunk the knot into the bottle, loop the running end around a screwdriver handle and pull the cork out.

Great series. Like Romain, I have very little sailing experience but I've done the delivery back from Hobart aboard Love & War a couple of times and can relate to his story. Last time we had 50kn winds and 4m confused seas and was at times pretty scary. Your photography is really good at getting a feel for this if you have some experience of what it's like. Thanks for the reminder, it makes me want to do it again.
