Incredibly grateful to have a dad that taught us practical skills growing up and is here to help us put this fence up on our property. It's so important we pass this knowledge down to our children and be patient with them so that they can learn and retain these valuable skillsets. Fence Cost Details for those interested: Roughly 250ft of fence 4x4x8 Fence Posts- $282 2x4x8 Braces- $43 80lb Bags of Concrete- $201 330ft Roll of Wire- $210 Fasteners- $30 Decorative Caps- $90 Milling the lumber- $20 in fuel and blade wear (Maybe 6 hours of milling) (Approximately $700-$1000 at the store depending on type) Cost- $876 ($3.50 / LFT) Saved over $4000 from paying a contractor.

Summers in Alabama are brutal...as they are here in Texas. But, we love it..........or we wouldn't be where we are, right? Stay cool and enjoy the new fence (which by the way, is awesome) and pool! ✨🥰😍❤👏👍

I hope you didn't make the mistake of filling the post holes up with dirt towards the top. Dirt will retain moisture and eventually rot the post. The post hole should be filled up with cement to ground height and slightly crowned to allow water to drain away from the post. I did mine this way 24 years ago, and still standing strong. My neighbors fence...not so much.

My relatives are all from Mississippi and Louisiana where my parents were born. When we would visit is was always so difficult to visit because of the humidity. I was raised in the Texas Panhandle where I still live. It is extremely dry, considered an Arid climit. Very windy nearly all the time. Our temperatures in the summer run around 90 to 105, we have one wet month, end of March to mid April. We have snow ice and blizzards in winter. Fall starts in October with our first freeze. We can still get a freeze, snow or ice in April then June starts summer with 90 degrees. We usually miss spring weather all together. I feel sorry for you about the humidity. In the summer and most of the winter we run a humidifier in our home just to be able to breath with out coughing from the air being so dry. We all get acculamated to where we live and going some place completely different can be difficult. Our area is very flat, dirt and dust storms often. No forest or trees unless someone has planted them around their home. You can see for miles and miles in all directions. I loved going to see my Grandmother in mississippi with all the trees and hills, red dirt around, It was so different from where I lived. Rain showers almost every afternoon.
@kellykremer74316 ай бұрын
Wow, where you live is so different from where I live. I have lived in Northern California all my life, one day a couple of weeks ago, we had a 118, feels like 118, 0% humidity day. It feels like someone stuck you in an oven and all of everything outside is dry and crispy and dead. I can't imagine what that humidity feels like. I love watching you two, and I think the family aspect that you pull into your videos is so special and priceless. Cant wait to see what you do in the future.

When you pull wire fencing, you really need an X brace at your corners, or the tension will get loose. Yo7 should e watched some metal pasture fencing before doing this
@Woodbrew5 ай бұрын
We aren’t pulling wire like is done on pasture. We are just pulling wrinkles out and have full dimension 1.25” boards top and bottom. The entire fence and corner are connected together so that wire would have to pull the entire fence over in order to loosen.
