PART 2: • Scoring 29 in a Scramb...
We played Kabin Buri for a round of 8000 yards. That is just the longest course I've ever heard of. This is part one of our scramble 59.
Pro Mo's channel: bit.ly/2m339Uk
Golf Every Second's channel: bit.ly/2QRcz0h
Both these guys are professionals in Thailand and are on the local tour. They're young guys at only 22 years old and as the old timer, I had to put my full effort into this round as I take a bit of a break from playing to recover from some injuries.
SHOP: waddaplayagolf.com/
FB GROUP: / waddaplaya
IG: / golfsidekick
URL: golfsidekick.com/
It was a challenge but I was able to keep up with them. except in a few very important areas:
These guys hit iron shots so pure.
Golf hits a shot to the center of the green and shapes it to the hole.
Mo hits it at the pin with almost no shape.
Golf hits it at the edge of the trouble and shapes the ball away from the trouble off the tee.
Mo hits it straight down the chute.
Inside 130 yards, with a wedge in hand, these guys are supreme. This is where the socring comes. They get it on the green and then put it close enough to give themselves a real chance at birdies.
Then they are solid with the putter.
They're well versed in their swing and how to hit a ball and are ready to go from shot one. We are ready at about hole 5 or 6.
It's a whole nother level playing with these bad boys, and I look forward to playing with them in future for some experiemnts.

I could listen to you three hit driver flush all day 💪👌 Golf's shot-shape and mentality is definitely suited well for the pro-game....BUT DAMN...Mo's dead-straight, piercing shots were stunning and truly a joy to watch! Wish both of them luck on the pro grind! Keep it up Matt. As many have stated prior, your channel has had the greatest impact on my game 🏌️‍♂️ WADDABAUSSSSSSS

I used to hit the straight ball as a kid, then changed to a fade then a draw. i never intentionally changed it mind you! I mean Mo can hit the ball both ways, he just finds it much easier to hit a straight shot, no kissing.

@@GolfSidekick I agree with Mo. Straight is easier for me also. I can also move it either way, but it gets away from me too often, so I just go straight. This is probably why I don't care for sharp dogleg holes, unless I can cut the corner. Lol

I was wondering if you ever heard of Jack Nicklaus`s approach to golf? He said all he ever did was hit a cut shot and by doing that he completely eliminated the left side of the golf course. Then he said he spent his entire career only aiming at the center of the green and if he hit the center of the green there was not a 25-foot putt he ever stood over that he did not think he was going to make. Then he said he could always count on missing perhaps 6 balls left and perhaps six balls right and that basically gave him six long lag putts and the other six missing the other way would give him six short birdie putts. He said by playing that way he felt that basically gave him twelve makeable birdie putts every round. He said he truly never aimed at a pin in his life. He said he felt aiming at a pin was a certain way to always get yourself in trouble....

I always promote finding new golfing freinds if you wanna improve. You'll almost certainly never be a scratch playing with 7 handicappers. You need to play with scratch and plus handicappers. It just pushes you subconsciously by trying to keep up with them and also consciously to go out and practice more.

I love how they can get an almost perfect distance to the pin no matter where they are with nothing more than a book and their feet. A couple bucks at a course or a few hours with google earth and an image editor and you can get more info than an expensive rangefinder. First hole was a perfect example, since you can't figure out the distance to a bunker you can't see and don't know exists, but the yardage book has it plain as day.

You're a much better putter than I am, but I'm curious. When you're playing a scramble, and one or two people in front of you have missed to the right, why wouldn't you aim a little more left? There were a few spots where all three of you missed the same way. Usually when I'm doing a scramble I try to mix things up from what others have done.

Sometimes your brain just cannot recommit to a new line. If I see a line and someone tells me a different line, even after I see it in real life, I stand over the ball and the brain takes over and just will not allow me to use the new line. I find this on the practice green a lot! Maybe we were all a bit ego golf and didn't wanna concede we were wrong and persisted with the line we saw to prove it's right

Yeah, its probably a 26-27 degree 6 iron, which about 10 years ago would be called a 4 iron. Golf club manufacturers have been changing lofts for years so golfers think they're hitting the same club longer, they aren't.. They're hitting a 4 iron that has a 6 painted on it.

the only thing I disagree with is when you talk about pros missing putts from 5-8 feet. The pros are playing on the slipperiest and fastest greens on the planet. amateur's on the other hand play on your local course where the greens are relatively flat. Unless you go to a high end harder course obviously

Pros do it for a living. We dont. Skill level matches green speed and difficulty.

When you get to a certain level you don’t think so much about your shots it just comes natural to you. Your looking to much into it. The game is hard as it is don’t make it hard on yourself.

To be honest, that comment is a few statements strung together without any real meat. Perhaps elaborate and there may be a chance for consensus. But as it stands, it merely states the obvious without looking at how much prep goes into becoming 100% natural. What does ‘looking too much into it’ mean?

I like those guys, and I will subscribe. But Matt, I'm losing patience with you: If you don't leave that blade putter in your bag, I'm gonna unsubscribe your channel. It may not be hip, hot, and happenin' now, but you're deadly with it.

LOL! I can only putt with that thing if the greens are the right speed. Otherwise if they're rolling below 9 and in the rainy season and hot season here in Thailand, the grain of the grass gets THICK and strong and so the greens do roll below 9 on the stimp. I just can't get the ball to the hole with the blade man
