As a Caddy. Its not often that players really trust you. But when they don't and miss a putt. They trust you 100%. It's their decision whether to use your line in the end. So even if they miss it, I have yet to experience someone yelling at me or showing mild aggression.

I'm an 8 handicap. I've shot 1 under par once. I've found most amateurs can hit their irons and drivers well, but can't execute their short game. You must putt well and get up and down to shoot even in the mid 70's. Great video! 👍

Another great video man. The editing and use of motion graphics is always on point. I've recently been playing a lot more consistently and one of the main reasons for that is reminding myself to breath and relax before each shot. Never let stress creep in and ruin shots. Bad shots are inevitable but you can still shoot a solid round if you just accept that and move on without letting it get in your head. It's the best advice in golf I think

Yes sir, I agree with your relaxation technique. I have been removing tension from wrists and forearms lately too. My hands and wrists and forearms feel like they're working against each other and it's not nice, because it affects consistency and distance. And final bit of your comment is superb.

I played golf for many years and even considered turning pro. I was the Zimbabwe junior match play champ in 2002 so at one stage I really enjoyed the game because I was playing quality golf. Slowly I started playing for results and ultimately put myself under too much pressure and I was too hard on myself. I gave up the game. Watching this video got me all excited because I remembered that golf should actually be stress free because then you can swing freely and score better. Very rare that we have major swing flaws not caused by a mental cue. That is why I do like robin matthews williams stuff to get unstuck and then once your mind is free, my course management stuff can really help. But usually the reason we turn into pretzels when we swing is because we have some serious worms in our head!

I play this way, stress free golf with a good short game. Haven’t had this good a score but you give me much hope. That mid back nine I fall apart a lot because I start going for it. Going to play mellow through the entire round like you did next time. Fun to watch, epic video.

My philosophy is to take 2 shots before your first shot, then carry the feeling with some beer until the 10th hole. Then just swing for the fences and finish with a solid 169.

This is how I play and all my friends try to get me to always try to do the ego shots and sometimes I will succumb to the pressure and make the worst shot ever. When I play my game like this and lay up I always find myself attempting for birdie and tap in for par it's helped my game tremendously. Great video!! 😎

The Scratch Golfer Awakens. Currently playing to a 10.2 Handicap. From 81 posted rounds. My average round consists of one Birdie, 9 Pars, 6 Bogeys, and Two Others. I can easily see myself scoring one Birdie, 9 Pars, and 8 Bogeys following your advice. Starting Right Now. I officially have sworn an oath to follow the Path of the WaddaPlaya. No more squeezing a driver into a 15 yard wide Fairway at 270 Yards. With, of course, Out of Bounds on the Left side of the Fairway and a Water Hazard on the right. 200 Yard Middle lane of the fat Part of the fairway, 100 yard Wedge shot times two. One or two Putts. Bogey or Pars are Almost a 90 percent Guarantee. Do I look hitting the long Ball? Of course, who doesn't. Go to the Range with a bucket of balls, a bucket of Beers and your favorite tunes on your Ipod. Batting practice is just that, Practice. When the game was on the line, even if you are a home run hitter, the best play was a Bunt or a slap fly over the infielders heads. Scoring the runs on base. Golf is not a long drive contest. But after watching the PGA Tour on Television, we Forget about Jim Furyk. Who has not only won the FedEx Cup, The US Open, and holds the scoring record for carding a 58 in the final of a PGA Tour. Waddaplaya When we watch you, evaluate your options, make the choices, and accept the outcomes. With 100 percent commitment to the process. You absolutely have Inspired everyone who has ever been lucky enough to have seen you Channel. The way of the Playa. The Scratch Golfer has Awakened. An observation about the difference between tour players and this guy for you weekend warriors. First off...this guy can play, no doubt. I like his swing and approach. So kudos to you, man. But at a private club I worked a few years back, we hosted an event which had about 25 tour players. Mostly from the state we were in. Sufficed to say, the club I was a first assistant at was 6900/7000 yards, like this one. Only in better condition and a little more tree lined. Anyway, the observation is about just how much more in tune PGA players are with their yardages than a player such as this. So our club hosted an outing where 25 or so tour players played with an assigned group. They hadn't seen our course. Just warm up, putt and go with players below their level. Finding a rhythm can be taxing to say the least. I filled in last minute to round out a group and played with Jim Carter. Now Jim was a solid tour player. Kept his card for many years; made some money. But by no means was he in the top tier of the tour. That being said, he shot the most stress free 5-under 65 I've ever seen. On a track he never played before. Every driving hole he'd ask me where 280yds was, and park it on a dime. Whereas a guy like this hit many irons on a track of similar distance. And every iron Jim hit just floated within 8 feet of the pin. And all the other tour guys did roughly the same thing. So, I agree with the mindset this gentleman is putting forth, and the approach to shoot a good score. But at the end of the day, it's hitting so many practice shots it's like shooting fish in a barrel that separates the really good players from the tour pros. So just remember to be realistic and have fun while your playing. A solid 85 if earned is just as satisfying as a 65, relatively speaking. Hit'em solid!

Here is how I see the tiers of players 1. PGA Tour players 2. Struggling PGA Tour players 3. Lower Tour players 4. Mini tour players 5. Development tour players 6. Top ranked amateurs 7. Top level College players 8. Club pros 9. Eternal plus-handicappers or ex pros 10. 0-3 handicappers who play once a month and never shoot more than 75 11. People like me who dont practice but play a few times a month to a single digit handicap and can shoot a 69 or an 82 just as easily. Maybe missed a few but number 11 or 12 on the golf ladder sounds about fair. Player like me on a PGA Tour course, no ways I break 85 without ever seeing the course. Probably closer to 90. If the fairways are as wide as I see them on TV in the states though, maybe lower score. But with firm greens running at 12 and with bermuda grain in it (not bent grass) with a 5 or 6 iron in my hand for approaches, that is gonna be a struggle. Treelined actually suits me better contrary to what people may think. I grew up on treelined so when I see open holes, I get carried away. When I play treelined, my swing is way more controlled.

Although I like your way of playing the game and enjoy the videos (I am a 5 HC), your length with your clubs makes it so much easier for you to follow this strategy as compared to the vast majority of golfers who play normal men’s white tees. I use a lot of your strategies but I am longer than most with my driver and irons but a little shorter than you (e.g. I can hit a lot of 3-woods, 2-irons etc. where average golfers would have to hit driver to have a chance at a GIR). A friend of mine struggles using these strategies because he has to hit driver on every par 4 and 5 (unless the hole is 350 yards or less). I am sure most other average golfers are in a similar position. I would love for you to do a video making yourself “short” by playing two clubs less than you would otherwise play from YOUR normal tees. For example, on a driver hole, you would be limited to a 3-iron (or equivalent hybrid). Where you would hit a 2-iron you would be limited to a 4-iron. Inside 100 yards you play normal. Short par 3s are normal and any par 3s greater than 180 yards you have to use the “short” rules. I would be interested to see your results with you “modeling” what the average golfer has to deal with due to lack of length. It would be interesting to hear your commentary afterwards explaining how your strategy was affected or modified on a given hole compared to the way you might otherwise play it if you were not “shorting” yourself. I meant to add, the idea is to make it more difficult for you to get a GIR on almost EVERY par 4 and harder to have a really short shot on your third into a par 5. The longer par 3s should be difficult to hit with the short rules, but not necessarily out of range. In other words, GIRs on long 3s and par 4s should require a really nice strike. In addition, the idea of the short rules is to be hitting long irons where you might otherwise be hitting a 7 or 8-iron. You know as well as I do it it is much more difficult to get GIRs for most people when hitting 4 and 5 -irons. I think such a video would highlight the short game which you seem to do really well at. Played a round with nothing more than an 8 iron already. Played a whole course with a 6 iron and a putter. Played left handed and broke 50 for nine in my second attempt just using my ideas. Lots of experiments with other playas on this channel

5:26 dang you hit a 50 degree from 130! I'm still an ameature golfer. I'm in my low teens and I only hit my 8 iron 130! Thanks for the tips too! I've been more concious of my surroundings of my ball, and it's helped me save par and sometimes bogey. I'm now shooting in the high 70s and low 80s! Thanks for helping me improve!! I think Stress is self inflicted and as you get better at controlling the "swing" holes you will be more aggressive early in the round to get 5 , 6 deep and then it's about scoring your best ever or havinga small hiccup.

This past round- got waved around a slower group on hole 11. Drive, bad wedge, bad wedge, bad wedge (short par 4) two put. an OB on 14- lead to another double bogey. I ended up shooting an 86 on the day so not mad at all. Coincidently hole 11 I ate a sandwich as the guys were waving me around. So I had my cals but I think the combo of the turkey sandy and two guys unexpectedly waving me through threw my psych off and lead to a few higher stress shots in a row.

First hole at my home course is a hard dogleg left at a shade under 400 yards. I cant even count the number of times I've tried to cut the corner with driver, lost the ball, and taken a 6 or 7. Last weekend though I hit 2 iron in the fairway, 4 iron to the front-left edge of the green, then pitched up to five feet and holed the putt. A PLAYA PAR if there ever was one.

So I took this to the course yesterday but just played 6 holes. First four were stress free pars as I mainly just hit 3-wood with my draw into the fairway. I made my first bogey on 5 when I tried to cut an 8-iron to a right flag location. I'm more comfortable drawing the ball, and should have played for the center with my draw or a straighter shot according to this theory. I pushed it a tad right, missed the green short right and made bogey. Should I only hit cut shots when I absolutely need to? (i.e. around limbs)

Only when absolutely necessary but at the same time, work on the fades on the range so you can bring them to the course once you learn to trust yourself that you can do it.
