Great reaction. It is a good opening song for the album ... but don't go thinking the other songs will sound like this as well, there are 9 more songs that are all their own thing (and it is a great album). Of course, as the opening song on the album they did use it for the huge theatrical opening number in their first concerts in nearly two years where this was filmed. You are right, it is a great way to open the show and get the crowd singing along right from the off ... but they have not been using it as the opener on the tour. It probably works best as an opener when they can do the big production with the theatrics and the thrones etc. You didn't see it in this video, but apparently the huge Fox gates (not Anubis, it is BABYMETAL - it is always foxes) slid open and the thrones emerged through them with Su and Moa in two of them ... this was in January, so it was before Momoko was revealed as the third member - that happened in April.

At the time of the tour where this video was shot, seeing the three thrones was a great surprise, because BABYMETAL were officially still a duo. So the third throne was a big hint at the announcement to come. While the secrecy surrounding them sometimes sucks, it does make it exciting and helps to give them a certain flair. I enjoy it for the most part.

Oh man, Those chanting part is really fun live! I saw them in Jakarta on their ongoing world tour 2023, we even started chanting at the beginning of the song even before Su commanding us 😃. This song really get the hypes up live.

Nice reaction as usual! Actually, they used this song as the show opener on several occasions but they also brought back Babymetal Death as the opener during their shows with Sabaton, which was incredible as well. The three thrones were used at the PIA show in Yokohama and Momo-metal was sitting on it together with Su and Moa :) I am sure they got their inspiration for them from GoT, but as always, OTFGK The big heads in the background were of course foxes, not Anubis 😂 🤘🔥🦊

The track conveys imagery of one rising powerfully from the throne of silence, with a suitable fanfare announcing this new beginning._ At the end of January at Makuhari Messe they held two great live shows returning to the stage after almost two years. and by far they meet up my expectations with this epic live performance and top notch production. SuMetal and MoaMetal showing why they're a queen and princess deserving their thrones. The cinematic drone shots are just insane. We were expecting this live proshot version but we already have a live sound version, although you gotta be careful with the copyright blocked if you found that version around. We got so many big news and announcements when this was performed, starting with the cryptic message about the new member coming (MomoMetal), later announced in April 1 (Fox Day) when returned once again with another headlining shows at PIA ARENA MM Yokohama. Also they performed with a new BM mirror unit coming from another world of this metalverse. There was some minor issues when SuMetal was singing this live a little bit off, apparently an IEM issue (in summary) but is all good coz we all know it's been a while since performing live and is the premiere of this song, next live shows were phenomenal and they even got a dance choreo for this performed only outside of Japan at Sabaton's Europe Tour and Asian Tour recently, although they're using classic "Babymetal Death" as an opener instead of this song. It looks like they played this on the recent asian tour, but as an Encore song! They brought back Babymetal Death as an opener since they announced Momometal as third official member!

Thanks for this reaction. This was the first show in Japan without any audience restrictions at a big venue. Babymetal was the last band to perform at a big venue before the covid restrictions and the first to perform after in Japan ! I'll never forget the first time I heard this. I woke up after a bad night, working a 28 hour shift and still not fixing the issue I had been working to resolve, ready to launch back into it, got notice of this drop in my feed. Clicked on the video. The song started..... and the exact moment Su started singing, I literally experienced the physical sensation of tension leaving my body. No shit. My shoulders relaxed, releasing tension resulting in a physical drop, I semi slumped over my desk with a feeling of peace and calm coming over me. I have no clue how she manages to achieve that effect, I can just testify it happens..... For this particular concert, they opened with Metal Kingdom. On the current tour, however, they have returned to opening with Babymetal Death, which may very well be the single best concert opening song ever. An opening sonic salvo upside the face announcing the presence of of Babymetal.

Nice reaction, thanks! "METAL KINGDOM" is the perfect show and album opener and yes it's a big deal choosing a first song. It sets perfectly the atmosphere of the whole show. Funnily enough they only opened their first three concerts this year with it. Serving as the first encore for their recent headlining concerts, as they open again with their classic opener "BABYMETAL Death" since Momoko was announced as an official member.

This was filmed at Babymetal Returns - The Other One on January 28th and 29th this year at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Tokyo. I was at the show and it was indeed the opener for the set. The performance began with the ten backup dancers processing down the central platform to the center then they raised their staffs and pointed them at the Fox Gate. This caused the eyes on the Fox Gate to glow red, and then the doors slid open and white light and effects smoke poured out, then the three thrones slid forward with Su and Moa seated on two of the thrones, while the third remained empty at the time. It was an unbelievably spectacular performance that people are going to love once the Blu Ray releases later this month. It was also the opener at Clear Night in April, only this time the thrones rose up out of the stage with all three of them seated on them. Clear night was the first time we actually got to see the choreography for MK because the performance at Makuhari in January didn't include the choreo due to all the theatrics they were doing.

excellent content Septa-Metal and SOAREMETAL, they have a few songs that can open a show or close a show, this being song is a great opener or when they do it mid to late show with choreo and shorten the Whoa Whoa, right after the first two shows in Japan, MOA said in an interview that she couldn't wait for the fans to see MK's choreo, and it was finally revealed during the Sabaton tour, with cool choreo and shorter Whoa Whoa , later in the show.

The live performance began when 10 apostles appeared from the metalverse, opened the fox gate, and two members of BABYMETAL, seated on thrones, appeared from inside. We sang along with MOAMETAL in a rousing chorus😆 There were many small drones flying around the venue. It is hard to see, but the throne has numerous hands holding swords. And all the hands are making the FOX sign. The spear is supposed to be based on the Lance of Longinus from Evangelion. From Japan🦊

I couldn't keep my eyes off Su-metal when they performed this song at their Taiwan concert. The crowd chants "oh oh oh..." along with Moametal and Momometal, without feeling repetitive at all. I even think it's too short.

As mentioned in the comments, the opening was longer and more epic . I have seen the version from WOW tv. Rember, this was the first time fans had seen them perform since their hiatus, the roar, and cheer from the audience was fantastic when the spotlights lit Su and Moa up seated on the thrones The whole opening brought a lump to my throat. The audience, in my opinion, was awesome in their response to their return, and you could see it ment a lot to Su, Moa, and soon to be Momo at the we are BabyMetal part ❤❤❤ 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 Septa is right. This is the perfect opening song. This video is from Makuhari shows on Jan.28 /29. I witnessed both shows at the venue. You saw one octagonal movable / elevatable stage but actually there were two identical stages on the long runway for more surprising production. Several drones with camera were flying around all over the venue. (Those drones were manipulated by drone racing experts) Once this opening song by Su and Moa got started, I had goosebumps all over my body. The show was held after the almost 2-year long hiatus after all. Seriously many of audience (including me) were moved to tears and/or dropped their jaws when the gigantic fox wall opened and the thrones came out. Yeah! I chanted all through the song. ♪ Oh oh oh o o o ♪. What a happy experience!! The Kami band was playing on the east stage that was not captured in this video. After this grave opening, 3 girls performed 12 songs with Momoko Avenger. You guys noticed 3 (not 2) thrones at 04:27 in your video. Yeah, the third place was filled by Momometal thereafter on April 2 in Yokohama. I also luckily witnessed the show. What an epic moment in my personal history as I could see the new BM begin 😍

Nice reaction. They opened with this song for their first couple of shows. Then when Momoko became Momometal they started reintroducing themselves with their first intro song. Babymetal Death. Fun times. Queen Su sitting on her thrown to start. But overall, this song and performance was the majestic return of Babymetal to their kingdom. The stage in front of a live audience. Where they belong. Babymetal seems to never forget where they came from. The ladies with Moa are from the group Babymetal started out as a part of back when they were the heavy music club. That's Sakura Gakuin. A Jpop Idol group. I think all of these ladies came after Su and Moa had already left. Not sure if any of them overlapped with Momoko while she was in Sakura Gakuin. If you're a friend of Su and Moa you might want to keep practicing. You never know when they might just ask you to join them on stage. It was sharp eyed fans who figured this out. For me I knew the moment I heard it that folks are going to love singing with Moa on this one. From the fan cams I've seen I was right. Moa's chant just gets louder as the song goes along. On the last one I saw I couldn't even hear Moa anymore just the audience. Thinking how Moa isn't singing this alone now. She has Momoko singing with her. Shows how loud the audience got. audience participation at a Babymetal concert turn the dial to 20. The foxhole is deep and full of surprises.

I've seen some Metal Kingdom slander in the fandom, but for those of us who really enjoy it, it really feels like an out of body experience, specially this part: 6:11. Su's vocals, specially live, are so powerful. She manages to reach your soul and give you full body chills. The way she belts those notes it's just... Incredible. I can't understand how some people genuinely don't feel anything in that part 😭 it's so intense and full of raw emotion.
