I really like the way you said Jesus reversed the curse, in the example of loving people who have hurt us. It's so natural to just judge people for things they have done wrong, but imagine the contagion of loving people freely and doing nice things for them regardless of the evil things they have done.

I love how the circle of vibrant colors appears whenever there’s conflict or even just talk of God’s blessings! To me it’s symbolic of God is reversing and repairing the damage that we’ve done and it shows how He works all things together for good! (Romans 8:28 MSG)💖✝️🙏🏽

Jesus said "a good tree cannot bear bad fruit" and this is sound logic, which means "our father" isn't perfect if we aren't.

Another wonderful video. One critique though. At 4:25, you say, "Jesus BELIEVED that He was that chosen Israelite." A better way to phrase this is, "Jesus WAS that chosen Israelite." By saying He "believed," it makes Jesus appear like a random zealot who applied the prophetic scriptures to himself over a man who learned He was the Son of God. Jesus didn't just believe, He knew. The reason I'm picking at this is because we don't want to give any potential viewers an excuse to see Jesus as anything more than a man. He was a man, but He was also the Son of God and the only one who can save us from our sins. Take this critique as you will. I always like your videos and appreciate how much effort you put into visualizing biblical themes with stunning images. Keep up the Lord's work.

I agree. I had to stop and rewind the video to make sure I heard correctly. The Bible Project has been accused of some false teaching surrounding Jesus. It was known from His time in the womb that He was God's salvation to earth. Their wording on this seems contrary to that.

This is a wonderful channel responsible for teaching difficult concepts to those yearning for the blessing of salvation from Jesus Christ in order to reverse the curse of sin through sanctification. However please remember to choose the right words when explaining concepts. Jesus did not believe He was the way to reverse this curse. This statement makes one believe there was another way. THERE IS NO OTHER. In essence Jesus is God, He was present & active at creation, He was present and active all through human history, as is the Holy Spirit. JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY TO GOD THE FATHER. He came to earth, FULLY GOD FULLY MAN, to pay our rebellion price in His blood that we could be RECONCILED to the blessing of new life in HIM & to show forth the 7 fold spirit of God as new priests and children of God.

I'm thankful you guys posted this in Instagram today. My church is going through Matthew and our small group just studied chapter 10 where Jesus gives his disciples authority and instructions for going to the lost sheep of Israel. I shared the link to the Royal Priesthood videos with my group, and then this pops up. Jesus seems to be calling his followers back to their true identity as God's image, blessed to be a blessing. I love the cohesiveness of your work that is constantly pointing to the unity of scripture around Jesus. The resultant implication is that if He (Jesus) only "believes" then He cannot / does not know. That would imply He was not omniscient, and therefore not God, but something less. Why, at 3:47, did you choose to use the words "[Jesus] 'claimed'", and at 4:25 "[Jesus] 'believed'"? The script makes Jesus sound more like a guy who simply believed in God's Word strong enough while He was alive that God chose Him, rather than God choosing Jesus before He was born. I think it sounds slightly misleading in the truth of Jesus and as if someone who is saying it does not believe that Jesus really is the Son of God.

This is the vocabulary used from an objective and scholarly perspective. I don't think the goal of the bible project is to preach per se but to simply present the information and claims of the bible and the biblical authors and their narratives and have the viewers interperet it themselves. It can spur questions like "why did he claim to be the Son of God? Was he truly God in the flesh?" And that is a better response than just being told, because it prompts people to dig deeper and do research rather than disagree and skip the the next video. I can understand how that may be unsettling from a Christian perspective. But if someone asks me my subjective beliefs, I tell them Jesus is the Messiah, God in the flesh, there's no other way than through Him, period. If someone asks me to objectively tell them what Christianity claims, I would present it like the Bible project did here.
