Sorry for long comment but... For the people getting on smosh for declining. They were merging two companies, hiring new people, restructuring, changing the direction, reintroducing Anthony. (for example, lunchbreaks were likely taken at the office for the sole purpose of Anthony getting to know everyone). They were blowing up and had so many interview requests. I genuinely think it was mainly a timing thing, not a want thing. Having someone else in charge of filtering out requests is so normal (and needed) at a point like this. Them continuing to ask was the correct thing because timing and the right people have to line up for pulls like this. That's simply the logistics of it all. To smosh it likely looked like all the 100s of asks they get daily from random half-baked creators shooting their shot. The first 4 asks would simply have been filtered out along with spam. Those would not even get near Ian and Anthony. I think people severely underestimate the amount of "hey, wanna hear my mixtape" they get. They have people helping them sift through it to get to the good stuff. How would they know this was the good stuff? How did they try to sell the idea? We gotta remember that we are seeing this from their side, not the stuff smosh got in their inboxes. This is the kind of thing that has to be packaged and sold very well or it seems rather.... fishy and clout chasing. Which I don't think it is, but I could see it reading that way. Glad it worked out.

@@victoriasunivers 31:20 - 32:58 I think he likes to see and support the company from an outsider looking in, see it as the company thriving without him. This is influenced because in the past he thought smosh needed him to thrive and survive, it wouldn't be smosh without Ian or Anthony, so that has pushed him to try and bring the best out of all the other members and let them have a bigger spotlight just so smosh is able to live without them. He recognizes that smosh now is an idea rather than a person or a group of people
@FlantisFroggu2 ай бұрын
Smosh did thrive without him for a very long time, so I think it has already proven to be able to stand on it's own, so personally, I think he just likes doing all the behind the scenes work along with pushing people to be their best more than being on camera when it comes to smosh. Basically, he just likes it better. I don't think it's to ensure the company can stand on it's own even if he says that, but maybe that is why and unlike him I think that goal has already been met

23:13... This is why I love you guys, got a vibe from the beginning you guys we're genuine good people, subscribed at 90k. After watching a few videos it was easy to see your guys' faith, and it's very inspirational. Faith over fear guys! ❤

WOW! I feel like I have failed. I cannot imagine pushing through as hard as you guys did to make this happen. We too often take rejection and then hold bitter feelings. The amount of guts that it took to go up to Smosh at VidSummit is huge! Way to go guys! Derral is an awesome guy....I never ignore a text from Derral Eves! :)

I love that they hired people in the Defy email scene to look like members of the cast at the time. Such a nice touch. Plus Shayne going to get beers!! That was said in another interview with him and the boys :) great detail i love it a lot

This is exactly how I imagined a proper Smosh movie should be as soon as they bought Smosh back. It's criminal this video and the trailer doesn't have more likes. Yall are great.

This was a great hook for smosh fans. These actors did a great job capturing Ian and Anthony’s spirit. Even with such a large focus on early smosh, as a newer smosh fan (I started watching while Anthony was gone) I love the feelings and stories displayed using Anthony’s I spent a day with.

A jacks films movie would be so touching considering his difficult past

I don't know much about his past, but he seems like he would be a great fit for what they'd choose.

The Mr. Beast movie would actually still be interesting..but maybe showing him in the end as a villain.

Loved it! Outstanding story telling like always! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 A bit disappointed Ian/Anthony couldn’t have their own private premier. Glad Ian had a chance to see it before anyone else! This made me realize how insanely busy and unreachable Smosh must be in real life 🤯 Inspiring how you guys didn’t give up!

Josh who played Ian did brilliant. The demeanor and even the voice... is eerily similar to Ian.

As someone who has recently gone through a similar process (1.5 years, several favors from famous people, and many brick walls to ram my head into), I understand the pain. On the bright side, it all worked out in the end. If you are determined enough for long enough, you can achieve anything.

Honestly, if this came out as an actual movie, I would absolutely go see it! The entire Smosh brand (including their Smosh Pit and Smosh Games channels) has been of my my favourites for as long as I can remember!

Well done paying so much attention to detail! Your compilation halfway through cutting between OG Smosh footage and the new filmed footage you shot was wonderful and perhaps better and more emotional than the trailer itself, the incorpartion of building soundtrack and emotional expectance, really well done and congratulations!! Now fly back to LA and do a Try Not To Laugh, they'll never get our Aussie humour
