We take our BRAND NEW 2022 WRX to the track!

In order to get a baseline comparison of our new 2022 WRX's performance, we took it out to our local racetrack to see how fast it is. All of us were pretty impressed with the capability of this car in stock form. However there are some areas that need improvement. Our plan is to install some performance mods and go back to the track to see if they make a difference!

I got mine two weeks ago. I didn’t think I would like it but I made the mistake of test driving it. I’ve owned all generations of wrx and this is the best. Don’t knock it until you try it.

Got mine this week. I've never driven a performance car that feels this sorted on the road. I probably won't track it, at least not without a complete brake overhaul, but my god the acceleration and traction is phenomenal.

I would love to see a head to head with the proviso gen wrx performance pack. How does the new car compare to the best of the Previous gen. I have a 2020 performance pack that I track regularly in the north east, would love to see how the 2022 compared.

I'm thinking of taking my '22 WRX to HPDE, novice. Maybe not concerned about it, but some people in the forums are saying that HPDE will void warranty. I've never heard of that. Does anyone know anything about this or has anyone experienced something like this? I mean if you beat the hell on it and break it, then it is what it is. But how does simply going to the track void a warranty?

Dealers will pick on anything they can find to not honor a warranty. All manufacturers do the same. So if you do go to a HPDE course, enjoy it to the fullest and KEEP IT TO YOURSELF. Don’t be posting videos and photos, etc that might hunt you back later.

Bro you should. I just got my 22 6spd in WRB. It’s a great car for daily. The suspension is more forgiving than the previous gen WRX/STI. The seats are super comfortable and more heavily bolstered than the previous gen. Also it has a great rev range. The looks grow on you pretty fast. I’ve been getting more Subie waves than when I had my 15 WRX. ✌️

lol on how quiet this car is... Pretty much jus as quiet as the VA stock. My 20 WRX made it a month before I got annoyed with it and bought an N1 dual catback, which BTW is how these cars should sound stock at least IMO.

The engine is much more robust. The rev range has been fixed and the stock tune on the 22 is really good. The stock tune on the last gen was horrible. This car has come a long way and it shows when you actually drive it. The 3 hp increase is irrelevant since the 22 is SO much more refined.

@@johnb382s Problem with that thought is I fully expect the car to appeal to more non-enthusiasts which will buy the CVT. The manual's days may be numbered because of this car.
