19:00 IMO it really depends. As someone who is doing this it is REALLY hard to justify paying $3500 got a Nexus and then paying another $2,000+ for a merge to save 2 PDM outputs. And that is not trying to devalue what Iwire does because they do amazing work. But if I can make basic car functions work though the Haltech and save a Good chunk of money. It makes more sense. If you've got the money by all means I agree with Brian!

There is definitely a lot to consider when you take on re-working the wiring in a car. Lots of different ways to approach it. As you say, this is one of those times where fully working out a couple of options to make sure that you are getting everything you need, and that you are getting the functionality that you want, is the best way to go. Thanks Tanner!

Some people must retain obd2 function where standalones aren’t legal. Caugh caugh.. California….

@@HeidiFeglesif someone’s in California retaining OBD2 then they’re not using a standalone though.

First off, we appreciate the compliment! I realized I may not have been as clear as I could be about this. It may also be just semantics since "merge" may carry some preconceived notions. If you keep the wiring from the chassis in the car, I would try to utilize as much of that OEM conduit as possible for maximum efficiency in wiring. It isn't about sending something to us or even an additional time cost. Isolating the standalone/engine wiring from the body wiring leads to doubling up and added complexity. An ECU is just an ECU at the end of the day, whether it's a standalone or factory. Due to the limited number of PDM outputs you get (all 4 are so precious we need to cherish them LOL), each should be carefully considered before using them. Systems like radiator fans, which don't need much logic other than on/off based on ECU control, should be utilized with the factory wiring. If you need more control or PWM output for, let's say, a fuel pump, that's where the value of the PDM aspect of an ECU like that comes into play. If you are going to build the whole thing from scratch, then ya PDM it all!! Saves you so much time and a hassle.

I'd pay a $15k approval tax for a Dual AVCS Canbus motor in my GD for the street. That may just be me, but I think they are underestimating the value of that business as these cars become a classic market.

Good episode, I'll never do a 2.5 RS, but I like listening. My question to FIT: Will Subaru ever bring the WRX Levorg to the United States of America? Mexico started selling the Subaru WRX Levorg almost a year ago. If Subaru won't bring the Levorg to the USA, what is the reasoning for leaving out 1 of the biggest markets in the world?

Take a look at estate (station wagon) sales figures in comparison to other body types. Your answer lies therein. Heck, even saloons (sedans to you) don’t sell well in the US - see the fate of the Legacy. The vast majority of American car buyers are only purchasing SUVs. Y’all made your beds, now lie in them. 😂

What if gps fails? No back up? I have lost satellite coverage multiple times driving
@iwiresubaruwiringsolutions55386 күн бұрын
GPS is only there for calibration. The speed signal is generated from the tone ring on the hub and then converted to the signal type for the ECU and cluster. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nHnOnmuthLONm68si=YgN0cgWE5OrqaxIn

Well when you do wire merges and you see that they used all the old wires and didn’t actually follow the wiring schematics then you understand the frustration. To do a merge you need the car and the custom wiring for that car since Subaru changed pins regularly. And the rx turbo harness schematic only exists in my personal swap schematic. That took a long time to figure out.
@FlatironsTuning19 күн бұрын
There is definitely nothing easy or quick about wiring. And that goes double for anything that you don't have a schematic for. Stay Tuned!

@ just remember I have the schematic for the rx turbos memorized now lol. It’s amazing how many subarus that were built late in the year have random colored wires,
