18 is a child, a big child but a kid. And throwing objects is abusive behavior. If a kid doesnt feel safe outside they go inward. Also if he is gaming so much and wanting to start a career supporting him by helping him set up a business account, a twitch and other ways to make money which will help him feel more accepted which will help change his feelings towards the family. Yelling at a kid till they change doesnt really help. They either change to shut you up and they then block you out or they change for the worse & block you out. Her first response isn't to confiscate it but to throw it and damage the walls in her home? She is bout to lose her kid.

I agree with the Judge's ruling. For punishment she should have unplugged and taken the game away and put it in Time Out or hide it. He should have been grounded from the game for amount of days or weeks. She overreacted by breaking his game that he saved 11 months to buy. Punishment but still respecting each other. I think the reason why this show feels off is because we are expecting Judge Lauren Lake Paternity Court. We all can relate to Paternity Court issues. Some of the cases i watched on We the People their diva superior smug manner at the beginning and end of case made it seem strange not natural like the angry looks and such.

I wanna know what the home environment was like for him. Based on how he dresses i can guess a few things..... mom was very controlling, he was isolated, didn't fit in anywhere, made fun of, and had zero self autonomy. Also, seeing that there isn't a father around he didn't get to be a kid. So So im getting the feeling gaming is his time of freedom, but mom doesn't like seeing the reality. He lost his ability to grow properly due to lack of experiencing how to have work life balance. REMEMBER IT'S ALWAYS SOMETHING ELSE'S FAULT WHEN OVER CONTROLLING PARENTS LOSE CONTROL.

I agree with the judge on the mother paying back the money. I also agree the boy should get a part time job , then if he wants to play after work that should be ok. In this day and age kids are making a well paid career in gaming. The pay for a year is about 150,000. If he is not allowed to do play games then he needs to move out and do what makes him happy as well as making money. I wish them well. Oh and yes I think the mother is quite controlling and you can see from her testimony she has a bad temper. So as was commented on we don't know what goes on at home. When people know they are being videoed they put on a false front to please people. Good luck young man go for what ever dream you have and don't let anyone keep you from it. I lost my dream just because of family circumstances. So young man go for your dream.

I don’t think mom or son was right. Mom shouldn’t have destroyed the console. She should’ve taken it from him or the monitor; not destroy it. She has some anger issues she needs to work on. As for the son I do think he is addicted and he needs to get off the video games. I do believe it is possible to turn it into a career but it shouldn’t be his reason for existing. They both need to go to counseling and they both need to be more open minded and more willing to listen to the other.

So his responsibilities is to do school work. Pick up his sisters and chores. I feel like one of those responsibilities should not be his since he did not make his sister. His schoolwork and his chores is his first job. Also, I'm tired of everyone. Talking about college like is everything when people masters and PHDs are having a hard time keeping. For finding jobs in the studies that they're getting those things in including when some jobs that you get those degrees from are high value or sexes. Or races still, but we're not going to try to talk about that. This is all about video games at the end of the day. And it's so sad because I don't think he has an addiction. I think he is a regular kid like he keeps on stating and regular kids if they're not doing sports outside and not every kid like sports, I was a kid who hated doing sports. I was good at it, but I hated sports. And I love playing video games. I don't play video games like that. No more. I have my responsibilities. I grew up, but it was a stress reliever. Also me reading books in my family. Had an issue with me reading books all the time. And not wanting to suspend high with relatives. Let's be real when you're a Black Sheep or you're not comfortable and you just want time for yourself. Most of the time also from a long day at school and I'm tired of I keep one making a thing like school's not stressful for kids when ya know that when ya school. Yeah, I had all the stress of trying to fit in. No matter what generation you're coming from, I'm tired of talking about. Oh I was 16 when i had a job or i was 18 when my husband worked in everything like that and we worked our socks. No one cares. That's ya, lives, so the fuck what Like just because ya was able to do, it doesn't mean everyone else was able to do it. At 18 years old, I was adopted and I was sleeping under neat the truck from what? I've been from at 18 to what I am at 31 is not the same. Life has changed a lot for people. He's either gonna fail or he's gonna survive. But yeah, I'm talking about. That he's addicted at 18 with these video games. Don't make no sense if he's only playing it when he's at home like any other kid. In like any other child that I definitely know who's playing video games. They don't listen to nobody while playing video games. All they wanna do is play video games, why? Because they have friends that they could talk to who do not judge them like the folks and that is a shame

Not Jose walking away from his mom trying to assert boundaries! 🤣Personally, what I would have done is put it on record that I would pay the judgment however that he had a limited amount of time to find his own place or enroll in college under his own dime. In addition, I would have him sign a written agreement that he could not enter my home unless: shows proof of an account to save the judgement for a deposit (towards his education or own place), receives counseling, and agreed not to bring, buy, or download any games on any of the home & personal devices. Home would be a prison to him... he would go running out of there within 30 days... or I would put him out... You can NOT be a pushover with male children... they never grow to be men if you do...
