The plaintiff, a seamstress, helped the defendant sew items together for a contest. They came up with an agreement that if the defendant won, the plaintiff would get 45%. She says the defendant hasn’t given her the money, so she’s suing. The defendant argues she paid the plaintiff and doesn’t owe her anything else.

And people wonder why seamstresses don’t get a lot of business. It’s cause you tell us a price then try to do all this extra after the fact. I was having an outfit made and I was quoted a price of $500. I paid half up front for materials and we got started. I had to be on the seamstress making it to ensure it got done in time. When I finally went to pick it up he tried charging me an extra $150 on top of it cause it took him longer than he thought it would. That’s not my problem we had it written in text flat fee of $500. He didn’t wanna give me my outfit until I called the cops on him. They forced him to give me my property and I rightfully paid him the other half and I’ve not been in contact with him since. His loss cause I had several projects I would’ve used him for if he hadn’t tried pulling a fast one on me.

The plaintiff's face when the judge was reading the texts was cringe AF.

VERY interesting case! Because, it was said in the original oral contract to get more if it wins. Pity it wasn't clarified at the time...in writing. That's what the seamstress needed to do, and it would have been beneficial for BOTH parties, to do it this way (the right way).

The plaintiff was just wrong to make demands that they never agreed to, after the fact, and is a huge scammer.
