Ohhhh I hope y’all found The Smith House to eat at!!! If not, if you ever return to Dahlonega, you have to eat there. It’s a different experience because you eat “family style” meaning they sit you at a huge table with other folks and then they bring out a 12 course meal with each entree in massive bowls and you pass bowls around like you would with your family. It’s super cool.

I love this channel and I do have a suggestion for you. Since you love Christmas and you love decorating you home. Have you ever heard of Frankenmuth? It is a town in Michigan that has the worlds largest Christmas decoration store called Bronners. The village is a tourist attraction I wont lie but it is worth checking out. It has the cute small specialty shops from woodworking, blown glass, penny candy from years back. Then there is the wood covered bridges, and the two main restaurants. Bronners and the Bavarian Inn. Both are very unique and have different things to offer. They sell bake goods in the restaurants also. A little piece of Germany in Michigan. Also there is a ton of lighthouses throughout the coastlines of the big lakes. I know you both love nature so I do have to say Michigan from the center of the lower peninsula and heading north is stunning. It will not disappoint

That train looked like so much fun! We love to ride trains! My niece loved trains when she was little so she's gets excited if there's a train where we go on vacation. The train in Bryson City is great too because it runs along the Nantahala River which is beautiful! I grew up rafting on Nantahala every summer! We still love to go white water rafting! We've done the Nantahala River in NC and the Ocoee River in TN. We want to raft the French Broad in Asheville next. Speaking of white water rafting, have the Bunkeys ever been white water rafting? It is the most fun you will ever have! I've been to Helen many times. Love it! My Dad lives in Blairsville which is near Blue Ridge. Funny that you mentioned the squares with the Courthouse in the middle. I remember thinking the squares were a unique thing too when I was a kid. There's a square in Blairsville. Love the North Georgia Mountains! I remember all those little mountain towns were mostly run down when I was a kid. I'm glad they are all so cute now and thriving! My Dad used to go hang out at the train in Blue Ridge just to help the tourists. He loved meeting people from all over. He's a lot different than my Grandfather that lived there. There were tons of people from Florida that would buy summer homes on the lake where my Grandfather lived. He didn't call them Floridians. He called them Floridiots. LOL I know I shouldn't laugh, but it's still funny to me. He did not like talking to the tourists like my Dad. He sounds like a mean old man, but he was the sweetest Grandfather ever! I didn't like vegetables growing up and that's mostly what my Grandmother cooked. She rarely cooked meat. My other grandparents were farmers so we had plenty of meat in the freezer where I lived and I missed my meat! I was a meat and potatoes kind of girl when I was young. Love vegetables now! My dear Grandfather would pick me a bucket of fresh cucumbers from his garden almost every day. I ate most of them myself because I loved cucumber sandwiches. I ate nothing but biscuits and gravy for breakfast and cucumber sandwiches for lunch and dinner one summer. Glad you had a great trip to the beautiful North Georgia Mountains!
