Snacks needs full time care. Problem with rodents, is their teeth constantly grow at a very fast pace, and if they ain't properly lined up, they will grow into their heads untill it kills them. You have made the absolute right choice. God bless you sir ❤️

Lucky Snacks! I had a rabbit with maloccluded teeth and we had to trim them every 3 or 4 weeks I think. Snacks would never survive in the wild; without your intervention he would have perished. You are fabulous! 🥰

My rabbit years ago, had the same condition, the jaw doesn't line up when they chew, so it doesn't file the teeth down properly. When I found my rabbit I had no idea why he had a big tooth like Snacks but learned from the vet to take tile nippers and trim the tooth when it grew too long. There are no nerves in the teeth so there is no pain when you trim it. Snacks will need to have someone to be able to trim his tooth from time to time throughout his life. Love to all the Chunk family, human and animals ❤

The teeth of some rodebts do need to be trimmed periodically. He is extremely lucky to have been rescued rather than left to suffer and die.

Their teeth have to grow continuously because their diet requires them to chew things that wear said teeth down. The alternative is their teeth wear out and they starve because they can't eat. Thus you get situations like this if there's an abnormality in tooth development/speed or their environment doesn't provide enough hard surfaces for sufficient grinding the teeth grow too long and become hazardous to the animal's health.

@@ladyabaxa Hard surfaces aren't always necessary to keep rodent teeth trimmed. Hay can keep the teeth of guinea pigs and rabbits trimmed so that there is no malloclusion or need for ongoing trimming to prevent teeth entrapping the tongue or growing into the inside of the cheeks. Malloclusion can also be genetic. Teeth broken or misaligned due to chewing inappropriate items (like a cage grid) or injury can also cause problems such as infection.

Fantastic job! It's so stressful for the animal. I know all to well about it. My wife and I trap,spay and neuter feral cats. Our two cats we have now were trapped as kittens. You're a wonderful human being for helping little snacks. He would starve and have a slow painful horrible death. We've seen how cruel nature can be. We've also seen how unbelievable cruel humans can be. Maddy was just 1.3 lb kitten that was tossed out of a car window at a Wendy's drive through. She was hiding in the bushes screaming. Nobody even stopped or asked why. She's now with us. Bea I trapped six years ago from another pod of feral kittens... Her entire family was killed overnight. Thank you. You're truly a wonderful person....

That's the same chunkster, Snacks? It's sad they grew back so fast and the way they did. I'm sad he will be elsewhere. Hope his family is okay without him. Thanks for all your care and concern for your critters. He will be safe where he is going, and happy, yes? Hope as happy as he is with you.
