Maybe it's the one that is more proteic, or having something spicy may help? Because some of the other food didn't have taste if you noticed, but the mexican food, they knew what it tasted like: when it was cheese or beans or anything spicy.

I'll just say as a Norwegian that "Real Turmat" which translates to "Real Hikingfood" is so good. Unfortunately as they said "that they lost 2 minutes of cook time, and their waters not very hot" and as a result it gets crunchy. if heated and prepared properly it doesnt taste any different from what you could make in your kitchen at home.

Crunshy chili con carne is how you get to eat it in the army aswell. As you dont usually have warm water on standby..... so scarra saying its simulating warm time, is actually pretty accurate

To be fair I wouldn't call the Norwegian one an MRE, it's just what we call "turmat" which is just easy to prepare food normally used for long distance hikes. Tur means trip but also refers to hiking, mat is food. There are other brands of "turmat" that taste significantly better than the one they had 🙌🏻 My personal favorite is "brun lapskaus" from Gilde 👍🏻

the norwegian MRE is the one the military use so it is an MRE. they did however not cook it properly. when its crunchy they either didnt mix, used too little water or cold water.

It is MRE, I had it when I served in Norway. They even give you a laxative gum cus the food gives you constipation :)

@@K000H yeah its not good chocolate but when you are so low on energy, barely any strength left and have too realy dig deep down to keep moving. I'l tell you that little brown piece of cacao, suger and fat tasted like heaven. The rest of the mre is kinda meh the ones you put boiling water in you can get real unlucky with.

Yeah the German MRE also comes with a small dark chocolate bar (we call it "tank chocolate" because it's hard enough to use as armour) and it's the best thing ever if you've been going for 36 hours.

Camouflage review: Toast - 8/10. Ghillie suit is good, but his head was sticking out. Jodi - 5/10. Good colour choice, pants had patterning, top did not. Again head was sticking out. John - 2/10. Finally a head was covered, shame the rest of him was clearly visible. Sean, Syd and Scarra - 0/10. No effort was made to conceal their presence. Cameraman - 10/10. Didn't reveal themselves once.

That Mexican style stew was one of the best ones. I used to just mix everything into the main meal after it was warmed up. Just add the tiny Tabasco that comes with it. I’d also trade the first strike bar and protein shake for the Gatorade powder. And eat the fruit mix while the stew warms up.
