Absolutely fabulous you are brilliant. Not many people would work that hard. You are going to feel it tomorrow but as Amy said it makes you feel good. Rufus is perking up now thank goodness hope he stays that way ❤❤

What a lovely surprise for a Sunday evening - that was really interesting 👏👏. I think that deserves a discount on any moorings when that stretch does eventually open 🤔😉

Bless you both for showcasing just how vital volunteering is for charities like the canal and river trust. Trust me it is so rewarding and it costs nothing but your time and you know that you are giving back to the community at the same time. Win win! 🤗🤗

Bloody well done! I am so pleased that canal restorations are going on. The Montgomery is another I think could be a great one, especially for things en-route. Such a small bit of funding can really improve the infrastructure, if only the government saw it. Really glad to see you both tucking in

We agree, its lovely to see there is still the drive, passion and interest out there for our waterways! 😊💪🏻

Good to see volunteering being promoted. We volunteer with the WRG (Waterway Recovery Group) and our little division of the WRG is called the BitM (Bit in the Middle). We meet one weekend a month and assist other canal charities with tasks that our team can do. Like you say it's a social thing too as we usually travel on the Fri and meet for a pub evening meal before hand. The jobs are so varied from concrete laying, brickwork, fence erecting de-vegging etc but you only have to do what you are capable and comfortable doing

Really interesting video. I've always wondered if those cruising the canals ever do any volunteering or even a bit of litter picking. How about you do some magnet fishing in the canals, particularly near towns. Who knows what treasures you could find
@BoatTimeСағат бұрын
It can be hard sometimes as often you fly through areas, but we are really glad we were able to give it a go! 😊 I think there are quite a few boaters who are also volunteers out there. We have tried magnet fishing before, didn't find much but we've seen the videos of the treasures haha
