My family’s favorite “cheap meal” is 2 boxes of Kraft Mac & Cheese (blue box) combined with a pound of browned ground beef, a diced sautéed onion, and frozen peas & carrots- and some sautéed mushrooms if you have them - really easy and super cheap & tasty!

I make that Velveeta dinner all the time ,I actually put shredded lettuce , tomato ,dill pickles relish and diced onion on top and it is Delicious .it's a Deconstucted Cheese burger.

Cook diced onions and bell peppers with hamburger then before you put lid on to simmer add some peas and carrots for a complete meal you can also add some mixed garlic 😋

I remember in 1976 working at a grocery store while in high school. We had Hamburger Helper's everyday price 79 cents. There would be times the manufacturer would have a promotion. We would build a big display and sold them 2 for a $1.00. Oh how the times have changed. The Velveeta Skillets I think came out around 2011. I remember my youngest son was starting school and he is a senior this year so that sounds about right. He was a picky eater and I thought he would like it with all the velveeta cheese. He didn't like it and I never bought it since. But this video reminded me that I liked it lol. I think I will be buying a box in the near future. Ya'll should do more videos like this. I was actually wondering a few months ago if you two ever cooked together at home. Hmm. I'm not dissing the choice - I have been known to buy comfort food boxed dinners from time to time. I adore Tuna Helper Tuna Tetrazzini. Blue Box dinner is wonderful when hubby is out of town and I want something simple (toss in drained tuna for protein if desired). But it would be fun to see one and/or both of you cook something from scratch together!

Guys, I'd imagine this was going to be at the least - good, if not real yummy. Chemicals do magical things. What would really be interesting, and truly more of a mystery result - is demonstrating/ trying out the real higher end organic concoctions, and then seeing if without all the chemicals and additives, you'd get something really delicious, as is often promised. Do a Whole Foods haul of mac and cheeses, stews, soup mixes, pizzas, etc., and see if the price differences (relative to the more commercial stuff) is worth it. Thanks as always.
