Remember how we used to go shopping in our parents closets for vintage stuff they had since they were teenagers? That's because they didn't have a lot of fast fashion back then and a lot of their clothing was quality that could last a lifetime. Our kids and grandkids are not gonna be able to inherit our fast fashion vintage lol I love the idea of leaving behind some great stuff for my kids by focusing on quality rather than quantity.

@artsygal1123 жыл бұрын
Yup. I loooooove quality. I will literally turn down something if the quality isn't there. I have some fast fashion now cause quality clothes aren't being made like they used to...and I hate it. And mostly the reason I have them is cause I've worn my quality pieces to death (I'm talking a decade or more of constant wear and I've needed to replace them cause something or other broke, holes, etc) Some of my fav clothes right now in my closet are on the pricier side that I've gotten on extreme discounts cause I wait and pounce for those sales. You can't tell me NOTHING when I run my hands down my arm and I feel that material on my skin. And u can tell the quality just by locking at them. I just get a bunch of complements on them. Looove quality cause I get to enjoy them for years more to come!
@christianaeckert29763 жыл бұрын
I actually find that I’m wearing Aritzia pieces from 10 years ago. I’m from Canada and we’ve had Aritzia since I was 14…(I’m 37 now) and they’re not fast fashion, in my opinion.
@parrisnia723 жыл бұрын
Very true!! I have a lot of pieces that my mom used to wear in my closet!
@corbitt613 жыл бұрын
When you are opting for higher priced items you have to think of the investment in terms of price per wear. If you find a pair of pants that are $120 but you think you’ll wear them at least 30 times in a season, that’s only $4 per wear. As opposed to that leopard print catsuit for only $20 but you’ll only wear it twice for $10 per wear. Obviously the $120 pants are the smarter buy.

I have Aritzia pieces in my closet that I bought 10+ years ago! Super pricey (especially in Canadian currency!) but these pieces LAST. I'm almost 28 and have shopped at Aritzia since I was 11... can confirm the quality is 100% worth the price! I can never walk into that store and leave empty handed. so many options for ALL styles and occasions, great sales associates, the list goes on. Probably my favourite store of all time... the pieces last FOREVER and most of the styles/cuts are timeless! Oh, and can confirm their winter wear is SO warm... that's what you get when you buy winter items from a Canadian company! haha I've had 3 of their winter coats over the past 12 years and they're so good!!! Just bought one for my mama! If you live somewhere that is cold and wet, get their water proof Super Puff! It's SO hard to find a water proof (not resistant) jacket that is WARM and not just a rain shell!

@mollyjean45703 жыл бұрын
Actually not a weird thought at all!! It’s smart bc yes clothes may look good standing still and might be great for pics but no normal people can afford to, or want to, buy clothes that can be used only for photos! Us normal people who are broke half the time need to know, especially with more expensive pieces, whether or not they’re going to be worth the money! And in my opinion, anything that isn’t functional enough to be worn in normal life isn’t worth it !!

A more expensive item like these, encourages people to have it repaired (if not capable of repairing it themself) rather than throwing it away. I repair all my clothes regardless of price until they fall apart: then I use usable parts like buttons again, and less worn-out fabric in little sewing projects, more worn-out is cut into 'yarn' to make rag-rugs or just rags to use for dirty jobs.

I grew up super poor, so I both agree with you and don't agree. The only store ever available to me besides the rare thrift shop was Walmart, and I still have many of those things. However, there was something called a Free Box in my town where people donate their clothes. I got expensive pieces from there that, alongside the clothes from Walmart, I still have. The overall degradation of the cheap clothes vs the preservation of the quality ones is clear. Just in general, the investment in important staples - not trends - IS worth it. Minimal consumption of fast fashion is preferable both economically and ethically overall. I don't buy expensive things often, but when I do I feel good about how it will benefit my wardrobe.
@amanda93013 жыл бұрын
Exactly. I'm not going spend a fortune on basic t-shirts, or sweatshirts, but will spend a more on things like coats, jeans, and shoes. Even on things I'm willing to splurge a bit on I'm using coupon codes, or shopping at places like Discount Fashion Warehouse or Ross. I don't really buy trendy things, I'm very basic jeans and t-shirts. I found a zip up hoodie at Wal-mart that was $15 and super soft, almost didn't buy it because I like to spend less then $10 on those. lol

Aritzia is a hit or miss in all honesty. Though i ordered a trouser from cider. It was good at first although it started piling after one use. I hate it. I wasted $40 when i couldve just bought the effortless pants. Some products from aritzia are great. And theyre service is the best. I had a ripped puffer jacket due to defect i purchased 10 months ago and just noticed that it had a slight tear. i sent them a message asking if they did some mending services since i didnt mind having it sent in for fixing. But they definitely didnt hesitate exchanging my puffer jacket for anything and they’ll equal just how much you paid for it if you chose a slightly cheaper option. Didn’t expect an exchange at all. I was grateful for it. Been shopping aritzia basics exclusively. Just stay away from fabrics like knit bustier tanks. It pils easily
