@@Barde_Jaune Not really. The only reasons I've used a lighter before are because I've worked with macrame, and because my house has a proper fireplace. I don't think there are a lot of situations where you'd need to use a lighter, and those lighters aren't the only type of lighter- you get the ones where you push a switch, the ones where you only press down and don't need to flick as well, etc.

As a bowmaker, I compliment all of you. It's especially nice to see someone who does _not_ flame the hairs after finishing, to shorten up the loose ones. If a bow is rehaired properly, there will be no loose hairs, and flaming shortens their life. But there are at least a couple of videos on KZbin showing this.
